Yep, I received a refurbished 360 on August 3rd with a 10/2006 date of manufacture and no new heatsink. I was somewhat disappointed and it's already locked up on me a couple inopportune times which is enough to concern me.

I second what Punk_Raven said. 6=last digit of year of manufacture, 24=week of manufacture, and 05=factory code of manufacture. So it was built between 11-17 June 2006!

I would start playing with a group of friends that you already know and are comfortable with. If you are pretty decent with FPS games, you'll pick up the R6:Vegas style of play in a few nights worth of play, no worries.

After doing some quick research, you are correct. So that means you should be able to use any ethernet cable to connect the Xbox 360 Xbox. You learn something new everyday. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you have a hub/switch/router, then you can use regular ethernet cables. If you want to do a direct cable-to-cable connection, then you need to use a "crossover" ethernet cable so they can communicate to each other without anything else.

When I was deployed to Iraq, I used a 1000w step-down transformer to power my Xbox and TV. I'm not an expert by any means but IMHO I wouldn't use anything lower than a 300-500w transformer.
