Voltage Adapters

Hello,

Long time member, but I don't post that often. This last September I moved to China for a year long contract for a job. I brought my Xbox 360 with me. I was going to hook it up today, but I noticed that it doesn't support dual voltage. The chinese use 220-240v, so I'm going to need a voltage adapter.

I went out today and found some, but there is a small problem. Doing a quick search on google tells me that the Xbox 360 draws 160w of power. The highest rated voltage adapter I found was 150w.

My question is this: Will the 150w voltage adapter work fine, or do I need to try and find one that has a higher rating? They are very hard to find in the city I am, because there aren't a lot of foreigners here. Shipping to China is also very expensive, so I'd like to try and find something locally.

Thanks for all the help,
Vpr

Check out Play Asia (links under the "Shop" menu at the top of the page). That will be your best bet for something reasonable.

Chances are that 150w rating is peak/spike and not constant. I wouldn't use that for anything more than an XBox and that alone might be pushing it.

When I was deployed to Iraq, I used a 1000w step-down transformer to power my Xbox and TV. I'm not an expert by any means but IMHO I wouldn't use anything lower than a 300-500w transformer.
