Thats most likely just the PS3 hardware that was "fixed" with the 80GB and now the 40GB.

I assume they will work on US PS3s but look at the back of any controller you have this gen. All have a FCC stamp on the back, which these wont. I doubt it matters but just throwing it out there.

It seems with the 80GB and all the Euro versions of the PS3 that the GS chip is enough to support alot of games. I wonder if they'll still support that kind of BC, it seems the PS3 is more than able to emulate the EE Chip.

What have you tried to do to fix the problem? Do you live close to other people, maybe they have devices that are causing the interference?

Bah, I wish we had real answers, I'm so tempted to sell my cheap 80GB to my friend and get a 60GB to toss out my PS2. Its frustrating that they improved the bluetooth issue in the 80GB but lost the EE, software BC is decent, but we have no way to know if it'll keep improving or if the 40GB...
