I was at best buy yesterday and they have these "Red" magazine laying around for free. It was their premiere issue, its a magazine for ATI graphic cards. Anyways, in the back of the magazine are coupons for $10 off any game over 29.99 along with other coupons for ATI products. It doesnt specify whether you can use it for PC games or console games---so i asked the cashier if i can use it for PS2 games, and he said yes.

check your local bestbuy for RED magazine. I found it in the video game section.

I tried to use it to buy Doom 3 for the Xbox. The clerk rang it up, and took my coupon. Afterwards, I saw my receipt, and it credited me 0.00. Even worse, i was penalized 15,000 reward zone points for using the coupon. Best Buy sucks.

Two things - First, why didn't you check the receipt while you were standing there? Sceond, how were you penalized? I think your numbers are off - you don't get penalized for using coupons, you just don't get the points for the money you don't spend.

Go back and talk to the customer service folks.

The 15,000 reward zone points removed from your account is probably for a $5 gift cert that is on its way.

Oh man, I totally made out like a bandit! First time I went to BB I only found 4-5 copies of the magazine (this was the last week before it expired). Then when I used them the next day, on my way out I spotted some more copies on the counter of the register closest to the security station by the doors. I grabbed a couple and the security guy was like, "shiiiiit, just take 'em all, I'm sick of lookin' at the goddamn things." So I was like, HELL YEAH! I scored twenty some of the mags! Except it was the day before they expired!

So, I went back the next day (the last day) and picked up a bunch more games, let's see if I can remember all that I bought...

The cashier let you use a coupon for each of these games??? If so, then you totally scored! I'm surprised they didn't tell you that you were limited to one coupon per visit per game.

I had four magazines and that's what they told me when I tried to use more than one coupon. That's why I could only make it there twice for two games because of gas and that I just couldn't spare the time.
