Oh, it's a newer offer, then... but with a $30 minimum purchase this time. Shipping and slightly higher prices than DDD sort of kill the deal, though.

It's not bad at all for what I got - cheaper than anywhere else I've seen for an upcoming import release. Granted, it's probably not something anyone else would be interested in, but it shows there are some good deals to be had with this coupon. ;)

Hmm, now I'm wondring if I should pre-order FLCL ultimate Edition or not. It's 42 bucks shipped, so it's the cheapest I've found so far. It'll be released 11/21 though, so I doubt it'll be in for the DDD sale (if they even carry it). If they do, it'll only probably be 4 bucks cheaper...

What to do... what to do.... oh well, might as well, I almost pulled the triger on ebay last month on the old box before I heard of this set. I wwas willing to part with a lot of money there.
 
does videouniverse charge you credit card immediately if you pre-order something? or does it wait til the item actually ships?

aww crap i think they do...i just tried to pre-order guitar hero 2 and they immediately charged my account...that's weird cuz i remember pre-ordering FMA Vol. 10 w/tin and they didn't charge my account until the day it shipped?! wtf mate??!

Google checkout charges it immediately regardless of the site.
 
Yeah, this coupon probably is better suited for videogames. Trying to buy anything boxset related is pointless because of enormous shipping. *goes to look at DS games*

So, this works on pre-orders too? Is this a limited coupon or multiple use? Could prove useful for upcoming Wii games (or PS3 if that's your thing).

I feel it fair to offer my opinion when somebody gives a glowing review of something I find to be sub-par. I hate to see people wasting their money when it could better be spent on Utena or Princess Tutu. It's my own sick form of compassion towards my fellow anime-watchers!

I have absolutely nothing personal against anyone here. I merely question their tastes from time to time. Though I think I may be slowly falling in love with blandstalker...

Some anime is so bad it deserves to be bashed. And, unlike domestic entertainment, it's often hard to know what's good anime and what's bad, even if you're somewhat familiar with it.

When someone posts here "I ordered " it's essentially an endorsement, saying that the item was worthy of purchase. And there's no doubt that is true for the person posting.

But, for anyone not familiar with the item, how do you know if it's something worth your money? Reviews and opinions are helpful, especially if you can figure out how your opinions and tastes compare.

As I read more of Kirin's posts over time, I realized that what he liked and what I liked were pretty close. If that makes me a groupie, so be it, though I had found and made opinions about some of the anime I love (like Utena, Kino, and Azumanga) entirely on my own. In any case, I'll be a groupie with a great anime collection.

If you aren't as fortunate to have impeccable taste ;), you can still use someone else's opinion as a baseline to figure out if you'd like it or not. There was a film reviewer in the paper once -- the more hatefully he talked about a movie, the more I knew I'd like it.

Look I have no problem with people recommending things (movies, games, anime, whatever). But, it's the negative tone that's perceived from Kirin. There doesn't seem to be an inbetween, it' either, "I absolutely love it" or it's "Worst. Thing. Ever.".

Most of the time it's not an attack towards a show that I consider "bashing", it's an attack toward the person. I would assume most people interpret his comments more to the effect of, "wow you must be an idiot if you like that" or "my god what is the matter with you". I just don't find this to be very helpful; that's all I'm saying.

It seems that isn't Kirin's intent, but you have to be aware that it does come across that way. Sorry to speak like you're not in the room Kirin. ^.^ It's just been bothering me for awhile, and it seems other people have noticed it as well.

ANYWAY, back on-topic. I posted this over at DVDtalk, and thought I'd share it with CAG as well. This coupon applies to ANY store that uses Google Checkout not just CDuniverse. I think there's a list if you go to Google for every site that uses Google Checkout.
 
I hit dvdempire and buy so far. I plan on doing this site for two of the games I already have preordered at EB (devil summoner and FF3 for the ds) and grab Okami and preorder something else....
 
how long does it take for CDuniverse to process their orders?! cuz i ordered the trinity blood box set on thursday and it still hasn't been processed...

Edited to add: I used buy.com, CD Universe still has Fire Emblem for $48.95. Buy.com had it for $14.99.
 
Bah, wanted to pre-order Ergo Proxy Vol 1 w/ box. Unfortunately the $30 is before shipping.

Guess ill wait for a deal somewhere.
 
This ended on 10/31, but Buy.com has extended their Google Checkout coupon until 11/6. I believe CD Universe did the same.

Thanks for posting! I picked up Phoenix Wright for a Christmas gift for $23.54. lol, it's for my mom, she loves those law shows like Law & Order, so I figure she'll like something like this. She's playing Brain Age right now so I also wanted to buy a game that's actually a game, but doesn't require a lot of confusing user input.

Anyway, if she hates it, then I'll play it. :) It's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.
