Frys.com has these two HD-DVD sets for $9.99+SH or free in-store pickup.

My links are giving people problems, so if you just go to the HD-DVD section at Frys.com they should be the first two on the list.

For whatever reason the damn site won't let me add anything to the cart. It says I need cookies enabled, but they ARE friggin' enabled. Annoying.
 
I have $5 for shipping on BSG, and was all set to buy, but since I already own the DVD version I checked up on hidefdigest and dvdtalk. Hidef suggest renting it, and dvdtalk says it's highly recommended -even says that other reviewers have been too harsh and that the video looks just fine.
Now I'm really torn - $15 for this is a great price, but if it's not a huge up on the DVD's, I can't afford it. Any thoughts?

I rented the HD-DVD's from netflix and compared it to Season 2.5 on DVD and while the difference wasn't phenominal (probably due to an upconverting player), the set certainly looks very nice. I'd reccomend it at $15.

I'm guessing you went to the Fry's in Anaheim. Do they have them in stock there or do you have to order them online and then they ship it to the store for pick up?
 
You are correct I did go to the Anaheim store. They have a metric F-ton of Battlestar and Heroes so just go ahead and do In-store pick-up, I picked em up an hour after ordering them yesterday. I'm thinking of stocking up on some $5 dollar HD's today they're cheaper than the instore prices :D
 
Thanks OP! I ordered an HD DVD player just for the boxsets I ordered through Borders (they were cancelled). At least I have something to watch on it now. Picked up: BSG, Heroes, Shaun of the Dead & The Last Starfighter

Awesome and thanks for the heads up on the in store prices. I work right down the street from that Fry's and was thinking I'd just see what they had there and buy them on the spot, but if I get better pricing via their online store I'll just place the order and pick it up instead.
