Has anyone seen a deal on the 120gb Hard drive? Also is the 60gb model available to be purchased seperatly or just with the new console?

You can get them for about $100 on eBay. As for the 60GB, there is supposedly an Xbox Live Starter Pack coming coming in October/November for $99 that has the 60GB HDD, a headset, 3 months of Live, and maybe something else. That could mean we might see the 60GB HDD on eBay for around $60 soon.

Or, you can wait for a 25% off coupon on accessories from Gamestop. Couple that with an Edge card got me a used 120GB for $90. Downside for that is you may have to wait for awhile before that coupon comes back again.[/quote]

When was that coupon around last?

Nevermind, I found the thread. It ran from July 18-24 if anyone else is interested and it was actually 20% off.

Are the 120's any faster? A friend of mine said his Elite seems to load a lot faster then his old (Pre-HDMI) 360 with 20 gig. I figured maybe they started using 7200RPM drives for the 120s. I'm not sure what the 20gig is though.

Anyone else experience this?

I highly doubt it. If it was faster it would only be increasing speeds on demos and DLC as disc games should not be loading anything but save files from the HDD. The only time it would be noticeable really is when they let you copy disc based games to your HDD to reduce disc spinning.

I personally purchased my 120gb HDD (used) a couple weeks back from Ebay for $80 shipped. I've been seeing the price range vary from $85-$100 from varying sellers on ebay with the buy it now option. That would be your best bet if you don't want to bother/waste time with the bidding. I got mine from Buy It Now, all you have to do is make sure the person your buying it from has good feedback (which is usually the case cause most of the guys selling the HDD's in the Buy It Now option are Power Sellers with 98% positive feedback and up...)
