175" Screen for $17?

okay, I know it sounds crazy and that it probably doesn't even work, but if anyone can say that it does, well, hell, it's only $17 bucks! Maxtheater It was a google ad and for once I was curious to click on one, so does anyone have one of these things? Do they work? What's the deal?

All they basically send you is a magnifier and supplies (i think) and you have to attach to an existing TV you have, then the picture from the TV will project. It's waste if you ask me...

Don't bother. Those things are a waste of time and money.

I have a friend who tried it in college. Here's the thing - Like was said above, you just get a magnifier and mirrors, etc. and hook them up to your TV (my friend had to turn his on end and "build" a little periscope-like projector with a chair, cardboard, and duct tape.

The whole contraption worked. However, they had to put blankets over the windows and have all the lights turned off. Hope that helps. A fun little project if you're in college and have some friends who like to do stuff like this, but if you're looking for something that's actually workable you probably would want to move on.
