1st CAG SSBB Season - Week 14: Championship & 3rd Place Matches + Smash Bowls MIA?

With the division championship week coming upon us, it's time for everyone to send in their last votes! It's been an exciting season and now we're down to determine who is worthy to be ranked and attend the post-season smash bowls!

As promised, I am providing ALL of my information used this season. Visit http://smashleague.scurker.com/ to see all past polls, rankings, overall schedules & records and strength of schedules. You may use that information to help guide you in your placement of players. I would like for as many people as possible to participate in this poll, as this is most likely the most important poll of the season.

Also, don't forget to vote for your "top 3" players for the Sandbag Bowl! Who is eligible? Anyone! Vote for the top 3 most banged up players in the season, and the top 2 get to go head-to-head in an exciting Sandbag extravaganza!

Rules:

  1. Please vote for your top 15 players in the rankings (and only 15).
  2. Serious votes only! All "joke" votes will be thrown out, or whole ballot may be invalidated.
  3. Vote for your top 3 sandbag players in addition to the normal polls.
  4. If you've sent in your poll already, you may send in a revised poll should your results changed based on the information listed at http://smashleague.scurker.com only once if you feel the need.

Deadline is Tuesday, October 7th @ 11:59 PDT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
 
And for those of who require the Smash Records, they will be updated with all games tonight. So, you'll have all day Tuesday to render your decision.

Poor Rig. Statistically, he's equal or superior to dyeknom in every way, yet because of low poll placement he doesn't advance to the Division Championship Bout. Although, I imagine the two are very similar in terms of skill level with their respective mains.

Our division technically had a 3-way tie... making the division win-loss statistic and tie-breakers all but meaningless :/

We really just had mud wrestling matches to decide. You were there, too. Don't deny.

Personally? I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUO7icGZTOw a little bit better, but it's not as fluid with the movement for the purposes of an avatar. 1:03, 1:50 and 2:10 are the best scenes imo.

I did at least a few times, specifically I was checking the last poll. I spot checked other names and didnt see any ballots for the post-season.

I was confused myself when Hero told me on AIM that Joe was swept. I was even more baffled when I saw his character selection. :whistle2:o

I think I understood why he did what he did and I respect his decision.

Regardless, he's still awesome at Brawl and holds high recognition amongst us CAGs. :applause:
 
Interesting char rotation Joe, at least you held your own.

Looks like I'm going to need to get back up to par with my skills.

Sitting out for 2 weeks hasn't exactly helped my game.
 
Before I get into the final smash poll this week, I want to take a few moments to thank everyone who sent in their votes for the past 9 weeks. I know it might have seemed repetitive sending in votes every week, but I think it made for an interesting and exciting smash season as each week we got to see players move up or down in the rankings. Finally, I would like to thank evergoo for organizing everything and Joe for all the hard work he's put into the smash rankings. Without them, this season could not have happened!

Let's talk about the final poll, shall we? Of the 30 players participating only two have made it through without any marks on their records. Both Arikado and maigoyume have managed to reign supreme over all other CAGs. However, the season ain't over yet, and there's a good chance both Arikado and maigoyume will meet up in the Smash Bowl Championship and only one player will come out ahead.

Otherwise, Arikado holds a commanding lead over everyone else in the poll with half of all first place votes this week given to him. Its a close race for the other spots however as the next four players are only seperated by a total of 14 points as can be seen here.

In the rest of the polls, Daisydog finally overcomes the battle for number 8 and comes in ranked at 7th over BlueLobstah. Mad D unfortunately drops from his steady #11 spot to #12, and Rig joins everyone in the poll at #15 while edging out Ingwe to #16. The polls themselves are fairly reflective of each player's record and schedule strength (aside from Mr. Beef, who entered into the season late) with the wins decreasing and the losses increasing as the ranks go down.

Schedule Strength

Schedule strength is determined by the win/loss ratio of all of the opponents of the player not including any games with the player vs the opponent. A perfect schedule (all wins, no losses) will result in a score of one, while the opposite (all losses, no wins) will result in a score of zero. This is the final schedule strength for the whole season including ALL games played in the regular season. Everyone's opponents should have a total of 56 combined matches (8 opponents * 7 games*). Who comes out on top with the most difficult schedule, and who is left behind in the pack with a "piece of cake" schedule? Read on!

Per evergoo's prediction at the beginning of the season, foltzie has the most difficult schedule of the season playing some of the highest ranked players almost every week for a combined win total of 39 out of 56 games, that's almost a 70% win rate folks! Unfortunately, Rig does not fare as well being at the bottom of the pack with his opponents only racking up 15 wins, with 41 losses for a win rate of nearly 27%.

Only ballot I have for you previously is Week 6. Otherwise, post-season ballots are up now, I just did not want to post them until I had a chance to tally the final votes and post the results otherwise people could just peek at other player's ballots. ;)
 
Actually, you and foltzie were fairly close with foltzie slightly edging you out. Otherwise, both of you were way far ahead of anyone else. I think most people's first place votes were for either your or foltzie, in fact I think people only voted for you or him in first place.

I would like to give a round of applause to both my co-hosts Blue and Joe. :applause: Without them, this season concept would be impossible to do. Lots of PMs were sent and we often bounced ideas back and forth, which helped make decision-making easier.

All in all, the level of detail we each put into this tournament is mind blowing. :whee: I personally don't think a future tourney on CAG can outdo what we did here.
 
I think the loser & winner of the sandbag bowl should do 2 vs 1 against Goo. I think they might smack each other rather than goo. :cool: If goo loses, he has to type that he got owned.

So does the Sandbag bowl have a specific theme or are we going with the obvious and only enabling Sandbags?
