1TB Game Drive(NVMe) for Xbox Series X/S w/ $25 Shutterfly giftcard: $219.99 at Best Buy

$220 for 1tb sdd is too much for me. I'll probably get a portable 5tb hdd for $100 just to store the games I'm not playing that often. Anybody have an idea how long it would take to transfer 100gb game to an external hdd?
Depends on the read/write speed, but I have a fairly slow 4 TB external I use on my Xbox One and it only takes a few minutes to move big games. It's certainly MUCH faster than deleting stuff and reinstalling from disc and downloading updates (seriously, every game has updates now) all over again.

Thanks! Yea, looks like having an external HDD for storage only is the way to go for me until prices drop for the expansion card.

i miss the good old xbox360 days of 2005-2010.    20gb and 60gb hdds; followed by 120gb and 250gb upgrades.     back when game file sizes were reasonable.     50gb and 100gb + game file sizes are just ridiculous.

Looks like transferring games from an external to the SSD will be under 15 mins for decent sized games.

I saw someone mention a pretty good idea with regards to moving games. Keep what you want on a large external, then just copy the game to the SSD instead of moving it. This way you can delete the game off the SSD when you need space and don't need to wait to move it back to the external.
