If anybody has been paying attention to my last 3 posts, I am clearly trying everything I can to get a good big-screen TV for under $2k.

I have done a lot of research and have settled on the Sony 42-in. LCD Projection TV. It's $2,500 at Best Buy and Circuit City. At Brandsmart in Florida/Georgia (NOWHERE near me) it's $1,999. Then I stumble upon:

$1,684

Is this too good to be true and does anybody have any experience with these people? Also, does anybody know anything about what kind of protection I would have through my credit card? In other words, if I pay with Visa and the TV comes in 40 pieces or doesn't come at all, can I get my money back?

Several other really good prices on this TV:

Anybody got any recommendations for any of the companies who are selling for less than $18,000?

Add on 200.00 for shipping from fotoconnection, and you aren't really saving that much to take a big risk. Have you tried to bargain with Circuit City? They constantly will take $$$ off of their TV prices.

No experience with them but the general rule of thumb is "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is".

That being said, Sears carries some high end TV's including Sony and has been known to pricematch the lowball internet retailers. I would try that first.

Really? That was going to be my next question. Do the major retailers price-match online dealers? I would prefer to get a PM by CC, but Best Buy, Sears, whoever would be great!

well I checked reselleratings.com you can check here http://www.resellerratings.com/seller3471.html looks like they arent so hot. In terms of the product being DOA that would be easily fixed with the return exchang policy of the store or the Warranty . If I were you u might wanna save some more money and get an extended warranty plan for that size of tv. I suggest you go to the return exchanges policy of all the websites that you think you might purchase the tv at .

I have been reading about that myself I was gonna price match this tv http://www.x10.com/electronics/allc...sony_KV-30HS420.html?185ac5b94c6c91f94259d0c0
with sears but then I read It has to be a local store that also has an online store too.

The official pricematch policy that we use is to only match brick and mortar retailers within 50 miles of the store. We match their price then take an additional 10% of the difference in prices on top of that.

The chances of a manager authorizing one that doesn't qualify are extremely low, but you never know. I'd go to a smaller Sears that doesn't get tons of sales.

Will Sears.com pricematch an internet-only retailer? In other words, could I call their customer service number, get the PM, and pick up my TV at the store?

You'd actually consider spending over $1,500 on the net on a non major retailer website?

That's pretty ballsy of you. Personally I'd rather spend a couple hundred more and get it from a store I know I could return it to if there was a problem.
