2 Halo 2 Maps coming out April 17th for..

glitch worked for me. Tried to be honest 1st and use my gold account. No go. So I stayed at the same menu/ game dashboard/download place, then selected the silver account gamertag and download worked just fine. Now the maps are on the 360 and the gold account can access the new maps. Maybe I'll mail in 4 dollars to bungie HQ, I feel bad getting these for free.
Did I read somewhere that these maps won't be in matchmaking for a week or so?

Is that the case?
I dont think they will be in matchmaking until they are free. Ranked matchmaking that is.
Yeah my download isn't even halfway finished....this is slowwwww
Slow? THIS IS SSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!!

Wrong. Bungie is fucking over the cheapasses who don't buy them. They will only be able to play unranked games because the ranked matches will have the maps.

When?

Are thet available for ranked yet?

Not yet. They're going to update the playlists in a couple weeks.

Hang em High is pretty sweet. I like how they added some extra jump points (you'll know what I mean) to help reduce choke points and create some new scenarios. I'm not too sure about the new Derelict...the new ramps seem out of place.

If anyone is having trouble downloading, i used the advice in this post from the teamxbox forums to make it work:

RuinerXL (teamxbox):

I got the "failed" message after staying up late last night waiting for the map pack to appear. I went to bed without downloading it and decided to figure it out this morning. The instructions given for 360 owners in the latest update on bungie.net are accurate, however they're missing one integral part: even though you may have a credit card set up as a payment option, it might not be your PRIMARY option. Once you've set up the credit card, you'll see it on the list of payment options. At that point you have to actually select the card from the list of options and press the A button. The right side of the screen should reflect the change, and you'll see the name of your card, etc. in the bottom right corner. Hope this helps some of you...the new maps rock!

I have to wonder if maybe MS forced Bungie to charge for these maps and Bungie didn't add this little "glitch" to get them for free on "accident" especially considering you will need them for ranked play next week.

I highly doubt that because Bungie is making a fortune off these maps as well.

wow i had forgotten that halo2 on xbox 1 only runs at 480p...

:(

also i think i remember that when transferring over to 360, it said something about not being able to manage acount anymore on the original xbox.. hence why i cant access my billing..

i updated everything on xbox.com but i still cant buy them

got em for free and thought they both sucked. WIll probably never play them again after this so im really glad i didn't buy thm
wtf.. im certain i had premium purchases on my old live acccount when i transferred over to 360.

now when i go to purchase the maps on my old xbox it says they are not enabled...

furthermore when i try to do account management.. i enter the last four of the card on file and i always get a technical error message!
That's the exact same thing that happened to me before I decided to try and create a brand new account on my 360. For some reason that one, with no credit card associated with it was able to download the maps but my original gamertag couldn't. I tried to give them my money but I guess they just wouldn't have any of it.

Nah, I had tried that too at one point.

I doubt they did it on purpose but they really did make it easier to download for free than it is to actually pay for the fucking things while using the 360.

No, I don't think it matters to bungie. They still get the same paychecks for their 80 hour weeks working on Halo 3. Just look at how the Gears of War guys fought to make their content free.

To the guy who says they suck, why? I didn't expect it to be as good as the first map pack, because these weren't made by bungie, but by some other developer on the side.

I'm in the same boat as RedVSBlue. My account won't change to allow premimum purchases. Shit.
I don't have a 360 either, just an Xbox. Keep getting an error when I try to input my four digits for my credit card.
So who is playing tonight? I would liek to play with some CAG;s. Add me to your XBL lists! Like on side...

ALSO...I just found out I got charged $50.00 for my XBL "automatic renew" which I didn't realize was an option. How do I turn this off so I don't get scammed next year?
You have to call them. It sucks.

My roommate has been trying since last night on his 360, and he still can't get the download to work. He's tried paying and the nonpaying way, and nothing works for him.

I couldn't get the glitch to work today.

Funny... I paid to be able to play Halo 2 matchmaking and in a week I won't be able to play ranked games unless I pay another $4. I wouldn't be making such a big deal over $4, but I know I'm going to have to re-download them once my 360 kicks the bucket again.

But u ain't got no legs Lieutenant Dan...

Anyone know how this purchase works? I'm planning to get the Elite next week and I was wondering if I would have to re-buy the maps on the new hard drive or if I could just re download them?
Just a question...

I thought it was against CAG policy to take advantage of glitches when it comes to buying stuff....
If I recall, since it uses the old XBLive system in order to cater to everyone, you have to re-buy the maps every time you wish to download them. Let me load up my copy of Halo 2 briefly on my old Box and see if I have to pay for a re-download. Edit to follow...

[Edit:] Yup, you pay for each download, regardless of whether you have purchased it before or whatnot. Better wait until you get the new drive if you want to save some money.

Thanks for checking Kapwanil, you just saved me $4

I still can't get the maps to download. Anyone else still having this problem. The $4 is direct charged to you right? It's not through MS points?

My roommate still can't get the maps on his 360.

Oddly enough, my 360 downloaded them just fine. He thought maybe it was the Internet here or something.

Don't really know what the problem is. He's been trying since the day they were available.

^^ weird that u guys are having problems still, it says on bungie.com that they have fixed the problems people are having with downloading the new maps..
i personally have not downloaded em, and dont plan on it

You won't be able to play anything besides Team Training...

When are the being incorporated into the matchmaking system filled with modders?

My friend also can't download the maps on his 360. He actually gets stuck at the part for the Halo 2 update that was released before the maps were out. He always gets an Xbox Live not responding error. We've tried clearing his cache, deleted everything related to Halo 2, and still nothing. He hasn't been able to play in over a month.

I finally hooked up my Elite yesterday, and it isn't letting me download it. :(

Update: Nevermind. I got it to work. :)

Note to those who got it for free:

You are gonna have to pay 4 dollars eventually. New "updated" maps are coming out, free to those who paid, 4 dollars to those who didnt.
