$20 EA/Origin Coupon, free $19.99 game

CAGiversary!
Code: OS3874XVC

http://store.origin.com/

Meant to be a reward for taking a survey but it seems it's the same code for everyone.

Dragon Age Origins
Bulletstorm
Dead Space 1 or 2

just a few $19.99 games you can apply the credit toward to get the game for free. I think it's limited to $19.99+ EA games older than 3 months.

It seems to be digital only, but it doesn't seem to work for new games. I tried Endless Space, and Orcs Must Die! 2 and neither worked. But Darkspore worked for some reason...

Got myself Dragon Age 2 earlier. That's all I really needed.

Also for other Origin related deals (like Mass effect 3 PC for $12) :

Quicker link

Yeah it seems to mostly work for games that are 1) EA published, 2) Older titles, but then there's the oddball that goes thru like the two Shank games, and those are only $10.

Seriously have no idea how the referral link got in there. I pasted only the url text.

Edit: Just clicked 'edit' to edit the post. The source is only the [ url]{the link store dot origin dot com}[/ url] so it looks to be a "feature" of the forums. It's still showing the referral link.

Copy and paste mine. I managed to magic it to not have a referral link. :lol

Code:
[url]http://store.origin.com[/url

... you just have to finish it.

My gosh. Is it just me, or does this Origin website run abysmally slow? >.<

Anyone have any PC-exclusive recommendations that work with this code? I'm mostly a console gamer, I don't see much a reason to double dip on console ports.

It is very slow yes.

I am also a console gamer, with the odd PC game that isn't on a console(Guild Wars, AoEO), I went with a classic, SimCity 4 Deluxe Editon.

[quote name='poiuiu']Reports say the code is completely dead now. Sorry guys.[/QUOTE]

It's due to mass abuse. people were using it to redeem entire cartfulls of $19.99 games.

To be fair, the thread in the US CAG forum also had the exploit posted in the OP. If you look at the later posts in that thread, there are many people there that either took advantage of a bug or attempted it in order to get several dozen games for free.

It saddens me every time I see a nice deal ruined by people who thought they were smart by cheating the system. I hope those people at least get their accounts banned.

EA said we get to keep everything: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/60/9040620.page#25426225

Taking advantage definitely paid off!

OH. EM. GEE. =O

You lucky duck. Do enjoy, I'm glad someone hit the jackpot. I'm hella jelly. =$

(And I'd start with The Saboteur, I bloody love that game).

[quote name='ragnar14'] It's like EA has no idea how to handle PR...[/QUOTE]
So par for the course for them.

It's not like they lost out on much in terms of sales; everyone who exploited the coupon never planned on buying them to begin with and likely never will otherwise. If anything, this is free advertising for anyone who actually plays the games (very few) and finds they like them, esp. for upcoming games like Dead Space 3, next Battlefield, next Sims games, FIFA 13, next Need for Speed and whatever incoming entry to an existing franchise.
I'd say next Dragon Age as well, but 2 sucked. :p
