Or at least my bank account.

Since games started coming out at $20, I have had a hard time saying 'no' to them. Great games like Katamari, and Guilty Gear X2 haven't helped this one bit. Besides those games, I've also picked up Wings of War, ESPN NFL and NHL, and Gun Grave OD.

I'm starting to think, it's never been a better time to be a gamer. I don't think this $20 thing is going away any time soon. And that talking about new games. Don't get me started on Greatest Hits/Plat./Players Choice titles.

It used to be that new games released at $10 or $20 were usually crap (well, except for those Dreamcast releases at the end of it's life - Mars Matrix, Project Justice, etc). Now with AAA titles like Gulity Gear X2 Reload, Katamari Damacy, and the ESPN titles releasing at $20, it really does make it hard to control your spending. I'm also glad I can get most of them at Best Buy for $15 :)

I don't have the willpower to do that. What if the $50 game disappears before it's $20 (ala Rez)? It doesn't happen to too many games, but the mere thought that it could happen, gets me.

But I don't listen to anyone's opinion but the 'professionals' i.e. IGN and EGM reviewers.

This week it's ESPN NBA 2K5, and Ultra Bust-A-Move. Someone try to stop me from making these purchases.

I know what you mean. Now that we are getting A quality titles at $20, it is crazy. I just got Katamari and Gungrave:OD, and while I already beat them, I put more time in either of them than I have on any full price game since Ninja Gaiden.

Gungrave OD is 15 (MSRP), any store selling it for 20 is trying to rip you off.

Games like GGX2 reload are based on games that have already been released and sold for a while. As I understand it, it's the same as the PS2 version just with online playability. When they drop the price like that it means they know he games in circulation and know the demand might be less than expected although capcom seems to have short term memory when it comes to their rehash releases.
