$20 Google Checkout credit with two $20 purchases

CAGiversary!
I just got an e-mail that Google Checkout is offering a $20 bonus if you buy two items at $20 or more at any two stores that support Google Checkout.

Buy.com, J&R Music, Toys'R'Us...all valid stores. This is a pretty good deal. Basically buy 2 get 1 free on bargain titles. I picked up Silent Hill Origins and Dracula X for PSP. I might use that $20 to cut into the Kane & Lynch MSRP.

I'm not too clear on what this deal is. You have to purchase two items from two stores? Is a coupon code required? Do you think you could copy and paste exactly what it says in that email?

Thanks!

Hmm...e-mail from who though???
I haven't recieved any e-mails.

If so, I could use 2 Wii Zappers..since me & my friend would be playing Ghost Squad and RE:UC...

Here's the e-mail:
Get a head start on your holiday shopping and earn a $20 shopping bonus from Google Checkout. Just shop at two eligible stores and use Google Checkout to make a purchase of $20 or more at each store (before tax and shipping). Complete your purchases before November 30, 2007 and we'll send* you a $20 shopping bonus that you can use on your next purchase.

Finding eligible stores is easy – just use Google Product Search and look for the Google Checkout image: Checkout Badge

Thank you for using Google Checkout. Happy shopping!
The way it worked for me was I visited the site and the Google Checkout site had details on the offer. Like saying "you need to buy 1 more" after I bought the first item.

Do a test purchase just to ring it up to the Google Checkout page and see if it mentions the offer. I'm assuming this is only for existing members, since it was sent to those who already used Google Checkout before. I haven't used mine but once for the initial $30 off deal, so maybe it's a limited deal for those who don't shop with Google Checkout much?

So basically you have to buy 2 items, one from TWO different stores that offer Google Checkout.
..And they will send you a $20 credit?
Not BAD..but..not that exciting, IMO

Now that I think about it....I think the original post is wrong. Here is what I have from my email:

Dear Mark,
Get a head start on your holiday shopping and earn a $10 shopping bonus from Google Checkout. Just shop at two eligible stores and use Google Checkout to make a purchase of $20 or more at each store (before tax and shipping). Complete your purchases before November 30, 2007 and we'll send* you a $10 shopping bonus that you can use on your next purchase.

So I think you only get $10 instead of $20 for two different purchases...At least that's how I read it....

Same email I got as well.

I just got the email (found it in my bulk folder). Mine definitely says $20 shopping bonus. Maybe it depends on how much you've used GC in the past.

Can you copy and paste the text? Does it read differently than mine?

Usually Google Checkout deals usually start out and increase when they want to drag in new users, then go back down when too many people start jumping on it. Similar to when they launched and you got $30 off for using it the first time, then it went down to the standard $10.

You might not. Do a test run purchase and when you get to the Google Checkout confirmation page, see if the deal is mentioned. If not, back out of the order.

I never got this e-mail and I had a ton of purchases off my initial account back when GC began. And there's no mention when I try to do a regular checkout.

Bought Odin Sphere last night.. used google checkout. Sure as S, it was there in plain print. 20 at 2 different stores nets 20$ from google. Get drunk.
I take it 2 $19.99 items don't work...both have to be over twenty or over?
Don't forget shipping.

I'll probably use this to get 2 for 1 MS Points cards.

has to be before tax and shipping

They might be sending out batches at a time, to guage when they should cut the credit back down to $10. Otherwise they send out everybody an e-mail for a $20 credit and get slammed.

I'm guessing people with a lot of GCO activity might not get it. This seems like a deal to light a fire under the ass of account holders that maybe used it once just for the initial deal.
