Yep, GameStop turned all of their new GBA stock into used this summer.
wouldn't they have lost money doing that?
You know, I had this game in hands more than once, but I always put it back on the shelf. I enjoy a good game, and while I have not played it, I keep hearing how it isn't hard, but that it is INSANELY HARD... I really don't want to put my DS at risk of being thrown across the room. :bomb:
From what I've played of it, it's "old school hard" -- there aren't any cheap attacks, but the game is unforgiving if you screw up. Memorizing where enemies appear is a big key to beating the game, though having 4 continues helps a little bit.

Got my butt kicked eight ways to Sunday playing level 1 last night (got to the end boss, but didn't defeat it) and had a fun time doing so. :)

So far I give a big thumbs up to Contra 4, but do yourself a favor and play on "easy" level. Note the quotes! It's still damned difficult, but, yes FUN. You can still unlock chllenge mode on "easy" level. At least in theory. So far I've only made it partway into level 2.
How do you know if GBA games come with the box and manual? All the GS around me just have the carts in the case. Do you have to ask if they have the box and manual? Sorry I don't know this as I never bought a used GBA game from them before. A GS near me has both Summon Nights and I would like to pick them up if I know there is a chance they could have the box and manual.
The great majority of stores threw out GBA boxes to save on shelf space. The store where I found boxed games had them in a glass case that was part of the side of their wraparound counter, versus most other stores where the games are locked in a sort of vertical case somewhere on the salesfloor. The only way to really tell if they still have boxes is to give the store a call. Looks like you already know what store has what you're looking for, so that should save you time from unnecessary calling.

Personally, when I was hunting for a boxed copy of Yggdra Union, I just looked at the store locator and call the ones that had the game. Before I made them confirm that they had the game, I asked them if they still had any GBA games with boxes. They all responded that they did indeed throw them out, so I said "thanks anyway" and frowned. Ultimately I decided to just drop an extra $17-ish dollars for a complete but open copy from eBay.

Out of curiousity, has anyone found out if this works on old gameboy/color games? Who knows, maybe there is some sort of system glitch.... though for the -$5 GB games are runnin, it might not even be worth it...
Very happy with my find.

Picked up Advance Wars: Dual Strike for $14.12 after coupon and edge. It's a complete copy too! Thanks OP!
I could have sworn they raised the price of this to $29.99 used at my local Gamestop. How much was it's regular price?

The box on the shelf had a $19.99 sticker on it (generic gamestop ds box) but when he pulled out the complete copy from under the counter it had a $29.99 sticker. It rang up $29.99, and I pointed out the cheaper sticker, so he set the price to $19.99 then added the discounts. Clearly a YMMV type of thing, but I guess I lucked out.
