This happened to me with the PS3 Godfather game. I ordered on 11/28/07 and it still has not ordered. When I ordered it the status was backordered, but then a few days later it went back to in stock. Just for grins I ordered the game on 1/4/08 and that one shipped yesterday but the 11/28/07 order is still waiting.

I asked for a detailed explanation why and they just kept sending me a template response like your above.

Paypal's resolution center has been no help at all. That is why with the second order I used my credit card since it is much easier to deal with there claims process.

For all you guys having problems with the EA Store and specifically their "customer service" (and I use that term very loosely), listen to what happened to me.
Two years ago, EA sends me a coupon code for $15 off, in a "Happy Birthday from EA" email. I use the code and order NHL 06 for PS2 which was listed at $30. I'm psyched b/c I figure I'm getting a brand new release for half price, and I couldn't care less about the shipping. The order ships, shows up on time at my house via UPS, and I open the box only to find.......wait for it..................NOTHING!!! Yeah, happy fucking birthday!
I got an empty box...well, not completely empty, there was a packing slip and some styrofoam peanuts or bubblewrap. I sent EA emails, made phone calls (they don't even have an 800 #), and they said I had to send the package back to them before they would refund my credit card, and they could not refund my shipping costs. I was like WTF!?!?! I had to return an empty brown cardboard box to get a refund for a game I never got? This went on for like 2 or 3 months, with me emailing or calling once a week. If I hadn't harrassed them, they would have never gotten back to me. Finally I had to call the credit card company and have them resolve the thing for me, which they did in less than a hour.
My experience with the EA Store was easily the worst shopping experience ever and I will never, ever buy anything from them again. A big fuck you to the EA Store!
 
Well their site certainly is a mess. A lot of links are broken, and when i initially tried to place an order i was greeted with an error code. Second try 60 seconds later worked. You'd think one of the worlds biggest publishers could afford at least a little bit of competence as far as who they hire to create and maintain this stuff.

Regardless got Crysis today, ordered last Friday. Was shipped UPS next day yesterday, which shouldnt of been free (says free GROUND). Damn shipping problably cost them more than the game. Total damage was $42, though curiously the packing slip total was 39.99 with 0 tax though on the site they did indeed charge tax.

Anywho, just thought i'd report a successful purchase.
