$200 gift card from Bestbuy for $185
Basically: if you care about getting reward zone certificates then don't make purchases with gift cards. The purchase of gift cards does not give reward zone points, and the purchase of an item using a gift card for payment does not get reward zone points for the portion of the order paid for with a gift card.
Purchase of gift cards does not give reward zone points = TRUE.

purchase of an item using a gift card for payment does not get reward zone points = FALSE. You do earn points.

Maybe you were confused by the language which says that you do not earn Reward Zone points for the Reward Zone Certificates that you use. Those do not count, regular gift cards do.

Also confusing is the rule which says you don't earn points if there is a mail-in rebate or promotional gift card with your purchase. I.e. - You buy a $50 game and are given a $10 gift card as a bonus. In that case you only earn $40 in RZ points.

I wonder if you can buy gift cards with gift cards?

Then I could buy a $200 gift card for $185 dollars, then buy another $200 gift card with that (spent $185, now have $215) do it again and have $230, again and have $245, again and have $360, three more times and have $405 for my xbox 360.

That means I pay $185 for a Xbox 360 :D

Even if the deal wasn't dead, the deal would have had to remain alive for quite a while to do that. That would have been nice though.

I was going by this quote from the reward zone page:

"Points calculations are based upon dollars spent at checkout on eligible purchases less... the dollar amount of any promotional Gift Card offer with purchase, or other excluded charges."

So I guess 'promotional gift cards' are things like 'buy this widget and get a $5.00 gift card' or something? It did confuse me. Thanks for clearing it up. My apologies.

PS: As an update my order went through and I got my $200.00 gift card this evening.

No you can't. You can't use Cash to pay for Cash.

You can't use Giftcards in-store on purchases that are Buy Videogame X and get $10.00 giftcard. The system will not allow it.

Yes, you can. I use gift card to buy gamer giftcards all the time in store. I also used gift cards online to buy more gift cards. I made $45 dollars doing nothing on this deal.
