Their shipping prices suck though = cost $8 to ship that.

Traded in:
Jak 3- $17.00
R Type Final- $12
Shadow Ops Red Mercury- $18 (9.99 preplayed at EB)

Didn't Trade in:
Metal Gear Solid 3 - $9

All in cash.
I just got $100 in cash and $200 in trade in credit at FYE. Wooooooooooooooo!
What did you trade ?

I got $13.50 for Second Sight PS2 . . . bought it for $5 ac at CC thinking it would be PO at EB
turned down $7.50 for Lego Soccer Mania ($3 at Half Price Books) not enough profit for me

Got $15 for GC Haunted Mansion. . .

Can't seem to find most of the high value games at local stores, except one XBox Malice for $15 at EB (new) which I'm not inclined to buy. . . Maybe that Dinotopia will show up one of these days (not to mention Room Zoom).

I don't have my receipt with me, but I traded around 25 games or so. The biggest money makers I had with me were Shadow Ops ($18 or so), Transworld Surf: The Next Wave ($20 something), Malice ($26), Get on Da Mic ($20) and $7.50 at TRU deal, etc.

Culdcept also brought in $15 (maybe more, can't remember) and that only cost $5.40 after 10 percent discount at a local EB.

Oh yeah, Get on Da Mic is a pretty good money maker, I must say. $20 for trade in credit (I think) and $16 for cash.

It's funny because they won't buy the bundled version with the Microphone but will buy the game itself.

Hahaha! Hadn't realized that.. :p

I traded that in as well, 7.54 at TRU converts to 20$ credit (It was actually mislabeled as 20$ at TRU). I really maximized my value last night at the Wherehouse. They have a number of MP3 players on clearance for 59.99 (Rio Cali, Rave MP), which both have a 40$ rebate (Both items reduced from 119$). So I bought 1 game from TRU and used the credit to effectivelly buy an MP3 for 8$ after rebate.

59.99 - 40 rebate - 20$ Game Credit = 7.54 total cost of TRU game.

Well Outlaw Golf 2 was a bust, it only returned 10$, exactly what I paid for it. I laso traded in Get on Da Mic and BloodRayne 2, so I netted 55$ or so, not bad as my outlay was 27$

i traded in 1 Get on da Mic and got $20 - went to another FYE and they offered me $2.50 for it.....thought that was shady, because the guy didnt scan it. Went to a third and they offered $2.50 for it too(saw it ring up at $20, then jump down to 2.50) and the guy said they have too many in stock now.
all 3 FYEs were in the same mall, so at least there wasnt any extra driving.
Boo - guess its going to wherehouse.com

I tried to trade in something today at a FYE and the woman there told me they couldn't do trade ins because their system was off-line. She rang up people fine from what I saw. Has anyone else encountered this or was it just lazy BS on her part?

Sounds like they were being lazy

Driven for PS2 is down to $3.75 from $8.50. Sucks but it was only $1.99 at Circuit City so no big deal.

Wow that's amazing. I've never been to a mall that has 3 different of the same store like FYE. That's nuts.

Yea- well its like the biggest mall in the universe. King of Prussia mall

Made out today at the Fye. My second Get on Da Mic traded in at $20 this time, and I also traded in my Transporter dvd for 5.62.

The new special edition of Transporter is 12.99 with a $7 rebate, making it 5.99 AR. So for 37 cents i got the new edition - which happens to come with a ticket to see Transporter 2. Not a bad deal.

I also bought Death Jr. PSP with the credit from the 2 Get on Da Mics.....it happened to have a $10 rebate, which was a nice surprise since it wasnt advertised in store. (Unadvertised rebates....does that defeat the purpose?)

Couple of things i noticed at 2 FYE's yesterday.

1) They stock "F.E.D.S" Magazine now. Awesome Street Crime Magazine that's hard to find.

2) $50 deposit to reserve a Xbox 360. Clerk's didn't know if this would be just system only or a bundle.

3) Nintendo Ds is $129.99 just like other stores.

4) 1 store said they're getting the Gameboy Micro & the other store never heard of the system.

5) LOT'S of mail in rebates on Portable MP3 Players.

6) All 3 Nintendogs are in stock although they're not located near the game section but are in the front of the store on the "New Release" rack's.

7) Advance Wars Ds is NOT carried at FYE.

8) ALOT of games had red stickers with price drops on them.

9) Virgin Pre-Paid Mobile Phones on sale. They also sell the Virgin Top-Up cards :)

A month or two ago I sold some of my dvds and games and I currently have $180 in store credit. I was worried due to their crappy lineup of DS games (as the above poster mentioned they don't even carry Advance Wars DS) that they wouldn't have some of DS games I specifically got the store credit for in the first place. Well I went there just now and asked them if I could look at the game release list and did find these.

Lunar Dragon Song DS
Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble DS
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow DS
Soul Calibur III PS2

I forgot to look for Mega Man X Collection on PS2, hopefully they'll get that one. But still good news that they're getting those others.

Well when I pre-ordered a PSP it was $300 and I had to pick out a game. I bet that FYE will make us pick at least one game to go with the bundle. I pre-ordered my Xbox 360 a few days ago and they still had no new information for me.
I can't believe a Nintendo published game like Advance Wars DS isn't carried at FYE. Kind of dissapointing.
Even if they did carry it it would probably be $39.99 just like Kirby Canvas Curse :(

I was told again on wednesday that credit cannot be used to pay for my 360 preorder (which interestingly enough I used credit to pay for). anyone else hearing such a stupid statement ?

That is really stupid. Luckily I did pay cash because I only had $350 in FYE credit and I had extra money at the time to do it. They will love it when I come in and pay for the rest of it with credit.

So... the people at the counter don't care that you're oddly turning in multiple copies of the same games? Like 5x second sights and once?

Is there anyway you can make sure, before buying from TRU, that it's no POX at FYE?

I ordered a bunch of tradein fodder for FYE from overstock - they cancelled the order, so i ordered it again. It came twice! Paid once. Works for me. =]

Actually they do care, they hate it when I bring in two copies of a game. As for the TRU and POX list, check out the POX topic it has all the games that are POX.
theres a crapload of them - you just gotta look for ones that are $1 and have a high retail
Help a cheapass brother out!!

i randomly searched 10 on wherehouse and only one of them they would buy for more than $1

Random Question- is the ESPN NHL 2k4 the real one? Or is it 2k5? B/c I own 2k5, and if I can get 15 for it I would cry tears of joy.

Edit: I'm going tomm. night I was just curious. I'm NOT just a lazy bum, plus its too late to call and I'm not home all day tomm.
i randomly searched 10 on wherehouse and only one of them they would buy for more than $1
I searched over 150 and found about 4 that payed 4$. This is just a waste of time, I can make 10$ on most of my games trades each. I would have to find 4 cd's to make the same profit, and then take the risk that items are no longer accepted once I ship them. Pooky you get to keep this one to yourself.

Pretty sure that it's 2K4 -- was quite a good deal considering EB had them marked down to about $2.99 new.

I create an order with wherehouse.com at the same time i order them all - that way you are guaranteed. I think a 375% return is pretty good myself. I usually buy 15-20 at a time.

I just picked up a new Advance Wars DS at an FYE today using some credit. It was the only copy in the store and the only time I saw it at FYE.

That's good to hear. How much was it?

I went to another FYE yesterday (Friday). The clerks there told me they couldn't do trade ins on Fri/Sat/Sun, that the computers would not literally let them do a trade-in transaction. I then went to another FYE the same day and traded my stuff in. I guess the clerks at the first one were lying. In the past week, I've been to two different FYEs where the clerks made up some random lie to keep from doing trade ins. It's just getting ridiculous for me to even get a store that'll even take trade ins.

Get on Da Mic $20
Cubix Showdown (GC) $12
Maximum Chase $10
Trivial Pursuit (PS2) $15
Aggressive Inline (GC) $7.50
Bloodrayne 2 (PS2) $23.75
HSX $4
Second Sight (GC) $13.50
That's good to hear. How much was it?
It was $34.99 but I used my 10% off "Club FYE" card to get it for $31.49.

I agree the return is good, but I assume you can not send in duplicates, so I just takes way to much time comparing the overstock list against the wherehouse trade in list. Now if someone could build a script to auto compare them we would have it made.

Do all FYEs have that "Club FYE" card for 10%? Where did you purchase yours at?

I wonder if you can use merchandise credit to pay for the membership. Then it may not be a bad deal (if you can use it on systems). I spent $300 since November just buying a DS and a XBox. Not to mention all the games, and DVD's I have bought, I have probably spent $700 easily in the last year at FYE

I purchased the Club FYE membership when it was a local Philly thing a few months ago but you're right, now it is a national promotion (from what I've been told). I purchased mine by using store credit after the nice employee gave me "new" trade in prices for factory sealed games.
