does FYE take back games without a receipt? Its still sealed and has their price tag on it with upc code and all.
I had a $35 off Dell coupon, but they didnt have a great selection of PSP games - so i bought WipeOut for $3.13 after tax/shipping, and have a sealed copy i Bought from FYE. Ill just take it back for credit to buy another PSP game later if it works....

Can I sell multiples of a game to wherehouse.com in different transactions. I just noticed on their websote that they say 1 copy per customer. I was thinking about sending in multiples of the freestyle soccer series, as they are dirt cheap at blockbuster and sell for a good profit ?

ive sold multiple copies in different transactions with no trouble.

Anyone have more details on this "Club FYE" card? I'm there quite a bit, using credit and such, and if I could get a discount, that would be great!

So, it's 10% off stuff, and costs $25 dollars a year or something? 10% off ALL stuff? Do ALL FYEs have this card?

Well... here's the real story on selling multiple copies to wherehouse. I bought about 15 copies of timesplitters for about $3 each one day and thought I'd have a field day with wherehouse. I sent one in and it was accepted. Sent another in and accepted. Then I decided to make 8 sell orders one right after another and just start sending them in one day apart. Well, somehow they received 2 in one day and I guess they reviewed my account because I got e-mails from customer service and some manager of the company both saying that I am no longer allowed to use the sell feature on wherehouse.com as I broke the website rules of only 1 copy of game per person (not per shipment!).

Anyways, to make a long story short, you can send in multiple copies, just make sure they don't arrive on the same day and don't have 8 orders in a row of the exact same thing.

That's messed up that they did that, I can see them saying they will no longer allow you to send in Timesplitters but outright banning you from selling seems unfair. Thanks for the warning though, I'm going to be careful about sending in multiples of any game (I have never sent in more than 1 copy of any game to Wherehouse.com yet)

I was able to buy a Taiko Drum Master (ps2) yesterday for $15 at Best Buy.

The trade in value is $17.50 at Wherehouse so today i will try to just trade in the game even though it has a slightly different bar-code.

I'll let you guys know later today if i was successful.

i remembering seeing a $3 off coupon for FYE stores - but don't see it anymore....does anyone know where to get it? I think it was on fye.com.

*edit* found it and it expired yesterday - boo

sweet - i just got blacklisted from selling to an FYE at the mall...hopefully they don't communicate that to the other 2 stores there.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you do for them to blacklist you?

Taiko Drum Master didn't work. He said it wasn't in the computer after pausing for like 5 seconds after he had to actually type in the name of the game.

Apparently, traded in Get on da Mic.

"You traded in a game that you paid less for elsewhere"

"Ok then..."

What?! I hate jerks. The guys in that store have always been cool, though... The losers seemed to be upstairs in the few times I've been there.

That has got to be the lamest reason for banning someone. Who cares how much it cost. For all they know, you could have played it, hated it and wanted to get rid of it. From reading this thread, it seems like more and more FYE stores are becoming jerks about taking trade ins.

im just gonna do wherehouse.com(just got $110 credit from there today) if the other FYE's are in on the gh3yness. At least ill save gas that way.

Heres a sad story. I went to FYE a few days ago to trade in some games. However, when I got there I was told they couldn't do trade ins for a month b/c they are moving to a bigger store in the same mall and do not have the storage room. I was pretty bummed.

I just sent in my first batch, so I have high hopes. I created another order with both xbox and gc versions of freestyle soccer. I still cannot believe that they are giving such high credit for those games. Next week I'll send in another 5 or so games. I didn't realise they credit you for shipping on trades of 3 or more games until after I created a batch of 2 games.

I know they are sentitive to missing artwork, but has anyone ever sent a game with a BlockBuster case. One of the GC trades I have is in a BlockBuster case, and it's a double case, so I have no replacements for it.

I bought a couple of the avalanche: 1080 at BB tonight for trade, and I noticed they are selling Get In Da Mic for 15$, so you can get it for 10$ after using the 5$ off BB coupon. It gets 20$ as trade fodder.

ehh, 2:1 ratio ;p

According to the "FYE game list" they let me look at in my local store I found this out.

Mega Man X Collection PS2 - NOT ON THE LIST.
Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble DS - NOT ON THE LIST.
Castlevania Curse of Darkness PS2 - NOT ON THE LIST.
Mario and Luigi 2 Partners in Time DS - NOT ON THE LIST.

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks PS2 - ON THE LIST.
Mario Kart DS - ON THE LIST.

However as a disclaimer, they said not being on the list doesn't guarentee they won't get it, but being on their list doesn't guarentee they will get it. The last one being kind of dumb.

But they told me that they're more likely to get games with hype and they hold meetings about them and they told me to write down the games I wanted on a piece of paper and I did. Of course I'm sure they just threw it away after I walked off.

Since trading in has gotten less profitable, we might post some of what we are buying . . .

I wanted to get Toy Story 10th anniversary . . . Fye has it for $20 with a $5 rebate.
some reported Megaman collection PS2 for $10 (I didn't see it)

Okay so i've never mailed anything before actually, I was looking at Wherehouse.com and they keep referring to using "Media Mail" and that they'll give credit if it's more than 3 items. What is Media Mail?

PS2 - The Polar Express $4.99, trade in value = $17.50

This isn't listed on the website....only for the other systems, does this still get 17.50?

Media Mail is a slow shipping method offered by the postal service but is cheaper than other mail services like First Class. If you mail Wherehouse.com 3 or more games, they will give you a shipping reimbursement that gets added to the trade in credit total. Also, you should get insurance through the post office on the games you send in especially if you are sending in a lot of games that are worth a lot of money.

Yes i knew that it wasn't listed but considering it can be bought for free with the $5 off coupon it's a game that is worth taking a chance on.

Thanks, captaincold!! Fye is gonna hate me again tommorow.

is it just more of FYE seems to have shrinken down their game library size? I stoped by this local weekend and seems like they got rid of tons of old games.

had my gf go to trade in some stuff for me today - being blacklisted and all. Half the cds i tried to trade in only came up as .01. Wasn't surprised though since wherehouse.com had them listed as overstocked.
is it just more of FYE seems to have shrinken down their game library size? I stoped by this local weekend and seems like they got rid of tons of old games.
yup, there GC selection really sucks, but on a positive note, the gal at a not so local FYE allowed me to exchange 180$ worth of paper slips for a GC and I got the 10 bonus card, she said the store only had 1 card left (as its 10 for 50 card), yeah right, but I was just happy to have all my credit on 1 card. Thats gives me 280 on cards to use for my 360 presell, just in case they refuse to allow me to use credit.

On another note the 120$ worth of games I traded to wherehouse.com last week was credited twice to my account. My next batch is ready, my only complaint is they don't really seem to have many games I want on the site :(

This is true. My local wherehouse stopped accepting Gamecube & Gba games.

I got blacklisted today! The idiot manager got really mad when he seen the total of the games I bought in, ranted about abusing the trade ins, and refused to go through with it.

Oh, well. I guess it's for the best. I can't remember the last time I actually bought something at that particular store.

Wherehouse.com it is! Seriously though, they have a pretty good selection of used dvds, some at reasonable prices.

yeah, I'm looking at wherehouse right now and I'm seeing quite a few things I'd like to grab. And the best part is, they won't treat me like a criminal when I trade games to them!

once you get blacklisted does all your store credit become void or is it you can no longer just trade in.....

Was he looking at the games you had in hand, or all the games you had traded in the past ?

Legally, they could never do that.
once you get blacklisted does all your store credit become void or is it you can no longer just trade in.....
One guy who was blacklisted was allowed to finally get all of his credit on an online-compatible gift card. Being blacklisted at FYE could be a good thing! (considering what assholes they are).

I wonder if all FYE's are cracking down if now 2 people from this site got blacklisted. It's ridiculous. If they don't want people trading in games for profit either: 1. stop accepting trade ins all together (how often do you see people even buy used games there, or any games for that matter?) 2. offer less for games.

Regardless, I guess it's a good idea to not trade in more than 4 - 5 games at once. I spent a ton of money at FYE this year thanks to these trade ins (bought a DS, an XBox, a ton of DVD's and quite a few games) and I'm I'd hate to be blackisted just for trading in too much or trading in too often (I trade in stuff about once or twice a month now).

My question is how do they know you're making a profit off these trade ins? are you leaving the other stores sticker price on the games? are you showing them to receipt? if so you guys that are getting blacklisted are just plain dumb I'm sorry to say.

I can't figure out how else they would know or could prove it, unless you're selling the same game to them in bulk at the same time (which is also pretty stupid)

Not trying to be too critical like alot of jerks are on this forum, but it seems like to me these are the ONLY way they could prove you are making profit and blacklisting you.
