so they downgrade some games, yet leave transworld surf at $27...
Let's see if I can remember some of the downgraded games..

Disaster Report gets $1.25 I believe
Outrun 2 gets $2.50
Haunted Mansion is $1.25 or $2.50
SOCOM is $2.50

That's all that I can think of at the top of my head. BLAH
Trivial Pursuit gets $1.25

and R-type final gets $2.50

BAH! I waited one day too long. What could of been $30 now becomes $3.75.

I was trolling through thier most valuable tradein pages and I did not see a single game that used to get big bucks.

Thank God, I traded all my games just last week.

I think the days of FYE giving big credit is coming to an end. Not only is it harder to actually get them to do the trade but now they're cracking down on the prices. Maybe they hired someone from CAG to be in charge of their buy back list.

Malice, V-rally 3, and Transworld Surf: Next wave still bring in $27, Dinotopia (xbox) dropped a little to $23.xxx. I think the only reason they are lowering the values of certain games is because that is what is being traded in often through the website.

Stuff like Black and Bruised and ESPN NBA 2k4 didn't seem to drop until more people started trade them online.

Other games that receive no credit now (that used to get 7.50 or more):

Alter Echo (PS2)
Bombastic (PS2)
Culdcept (PS2)
Haunted Mansion (PS2 & Xbox)
Shadow Ops: Red Mercury (Xbox)
Jet X2O (PS2)
Maximo (PS2)
My Street (PS2)
Pryzm (PS2)
Circus Maximus (Xbox)
Genma Onimusha (Xbox)
Great Escape (Xbox)
Gunvalkyrie (Xbox)
Minority Report (Xbox)
Syberis (Xbox)
Dead to Rights (GC)

Freestyle Street Soccer, Transworld SURF, Malice, and a few of the other random moneymakers are still alive and kicking (Timesplitters is still good, but only online, not in store).

Has anyone tried to send in Freestyle Soccer with the Blockbuster logo to Wherehouse? Did they take it?

I know for sure that Wherehouse.com takes copies in. Even ones that are in a Blockbuster case.

Also any news on the Xbox 360 yet? I am heading to the mall on Friday to see if they have any updates and to see if they will allow me to put my credit onto gift cards.

Do you remember what those 2 games got? I was thinking of trading both of those in but if it's a low amount, I won't bother. Or when you say no credit, do you mean it rings up for a penny in the system?

I checked on wherehouse.com and if they say "Sorry, currently not purchasing", then they will scan for .01 at FYE/Wherehouse/Coconuts. I found that out with Room Zoom. Of course My Scene goes to ATV Offroad 2...

One more thing, another good trade is Steel Battalion:LoC. Since they are cancelling the online portion of the game, it makes sense to trade this in now. You can find it new for $20 and used at EB for 8 (sometimes) and it get 26.25.

That's not always the case. With Driven for PS2 it said the same thing about not purchasing but I traded it in store for $3.75.

Oh shit!!! I saw 10+ copies of this game for $4.99 at Blockbuster last week.

They will ring up as a penny at FYE/Wherehouse now. I know My Street used to get $6.25 and the other I don't remember (probably 7.50).

I've sent in copies of both the xbox and GC editions, don't get too greedy, they will ban you if you send multiple copies of the same title (see earlier in this thread).

So I learnt another angle last night. My wherehouse just sucks for getting games in, they have all the signs up but never get any stock. So I'm preordering some dvd's (batman 13$, robots 14$ and star wars 14$ all after rebate) and I noticed that they were also taking preorders on games. So a light goes on and I ask the question, if I preorder are you guaranteed stock.

The answer is "Yes", so now all I have to do is connect the future rebates to which games I preorder. I'm just making that trade in credit stretch a little further :)

I went to my FYE today and they would not let me change the credit slips into gift cards. Instead I brought in my credit slips and put it all down towards an Xbox 360 ($186), and I still have $250 in credit so it will be paided off once I pick it up.

They told me that they are only going to get the Premium Edition and it will be based the on the pre-order list and who gets the first copy. They do not know how many copies of the system they will get in. She did not say anything about being a bundle (ala the PSP where you had to buy one game from whatever games they got in).

Here's a few titles I've noticed that have gone down recently, at least in my area at FYEs(YMMV as always):

Shadow Ops Red Mercury (Xbox): Now.. $1.00, down from $18 or so. I almost cried.

Alias (Xbox and PS2): Now.. $6.00. Down from $13.50 or so.

ESPN College Hoops (PS2): Now.. $1.00. Down from roughly 7.50 - 10.00.

ESPN NHL Hockey (Xbox): Now.. $1.00. Down from roughly 11.00 - 15.00.

Steel Battalion: Line of Contact (Xbox): Not accepted, down from mid $20's. I almost cried again.

These are confirmed from two different FYEs, albeit very close to each other. They also wouldn't accept my GBA titles (had boxes, instruction manuals, everything) either, saying they don't take them anymore. I find it hard to believe other FYEs would follow suit on that, though..

Wow! I just sold my copy of Steel Battalion: Line of Contact to wherehouse.com for 26.50 and got the email today that thy accepted it. So I guess that FYE is really figuring things out...

Anybody know or traded in scrapland for xbox? I went through 6 or 7 pages on this thread and checked out wherehouse.com but there ain't buying it. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I had the same thing happen to me with gamecube games today. I guess they are phasing out the used nintendo stuff.

Traded in: Get on Da mic $20, Army Men RTS $26.25(IF you have a microcenter near you, they are on sale for 9.99)

Stopped by Microcenter yesterday, they were out of RTS, and CC only had Sarge's War for $15

Damn guys they have really cleaned house lately with the "older" sports titles and a couple of other games "dead mans hand" (the past couple of days) on wherehouse.com

Also amazon has the 2 armymen games in sepereate bundles for the b2g1 free but after shippping and taxes youre spending about $50 to get a little more then $75 in credit. Has anyone heard of these bundles being instore?

I just had an order go into wherehouse. Got $170 trade in credit. They didnt accept 2 GBA games because the boxes were damages (must have got busted in the mail). They were extremely slow. The item got there Monday and it wasnt processed until Friday evening. I was getting nervous at first.

My second shipment got there Thursday and my 30 days to send it in is up on Monday. I think the games were MLB 2004, ESPN NHL 2k4 and Timesplitters. I dont think they accept those sports games anymore so hopefully its processed before tomorrow night

I just had them reject a FreeStyle Soccer, for being a previously rented game. B.S :(

I noticed Phantasy Star III, for xbox dropped to 5$ from 15$, luckily I had prepared an order before the drop :)

Anyone know if Army Men: Sarge's War (GC) has more than one UPC? I know Army Men RTS does, but when I looked at Sarge's War in CC the other day, I don't think the UPC matches that of wherehouse.com. Thanks.
Steel battalion - XBOX rang up as a penny at my wherehouse :(
Damn that thing costs more than a Xbox and it sucks that were only giving a penny. If I could ever find it for less than 80 bucks I might get one just to see what its about.

I wish I hadn't of tried to get store credit for DS games (app. $130)

No Lunar Dragon Song after a week and a half after release, no Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow as I went to pick it up today. They said "check back next Wednesday" I said f-that and picked it up at Best Buy instead. The reason I thought they would get them is they have a list that they keep behind the register of games and they let me look at them and both were on the list. :bomb:
So tell me please - does Freestyle Soccer trade in at B&M FYE stores? or only wherehouse.com? Thanks!
They do (I have traded in about 6 copies to 6 different FYEs), but if the person knows about the game, they won't take it. I think some versions say Blockbuster exclusive on the cover and they usually don't take those.

I've had some success and a recent failure, so they may be tightening the noose on this one.

Traded in today

Megaman X7 $10
Get on Da Mic $20
Nightshade $1
1080 Avalanche $1

suffice to say i didnt trade in 1080 or nightshade but sucks to see that they dropped in price

Went to the mall - and they said they didn't accept it anymore without even scanning it.
Just checked Wherehouse and they don't accept the GC version anymore - though the xbox one is still alive.
I bought copies of freestyle at BB for 1.50 so hopefully ill at least get 1 tradein to work, thatll make it worth it ;p

What are you guys using as trade in fodder at FYE/wherehouse now? Since they've updated the system recently, the only things I still know of are timesplitters (mail-in only), Freestyle Soccer (Xbox), and Get on Da Mic. Any other good titles to use?

Malice (Xbox) and Army Men RTS (GCN) are some of the biggest money makers, I suggest those. Dinotopia(Xbox) is also good (if you can find it), as is Transworld Surf: The Next Wave (GCN) (if you can find it).

And where are the best places to get these top titles?

Dinotopia can be bought on FYEs website for $12.32. After shipping and tax though you would only make around a $6 profit.

V-Rally 3(xbox) is another good one, but has been hard to find (for me at least). Army men Sarges Heroes is another good one(GCN)
