Thank you CC 9.99 games:

BloodRayne for 23
Polar Express for 17
Unreal 2 for 17

a nice 100% profit.

Now if I could only actually spend some of my vaste credit.

JUst curious if anyone has traded room zoom in lately. Wherehouse.com now has it listed as not purchasing, and usually this is reflected instore at fye and affiliates

Has anyone had any luck trading in freestyle soccer for 23-24 credit?

I had some drama today at the wherehouse, as I was trading in games as usual. I usually trade in those obscure games with high prices such as shadow ops, LOW:Showdown, Destruction Derby. The guy ringing me up, actually manually changed the prices to the games. I can tell this was happening as after he scanned the games, he would start typing a lot in the computer, and the game would come up some low round number. I was like totally WTF, so I declined the trade in after the prices were changed. Then as I walked around looking at CDs and what not, I saw him leave the register for a moment, then I asked some other guy who was working near by to ring me up. Low and behold, my game rang up the correct prices, and as my transaction was being completed, the original guy came out, I tried to stare him down and he wouldn't even look me in the eye. What a freaking jerk.

LOW:Showdown = 22.50
Shadow Ops: 22.xx
Destruction Derby = 17.xx

Cool... so bloodrayne 2 works (at least for now)... i may cash out on that game. $18 ain't too shabby (since fye/wherehouse overcharges for stuff).

I get this all the time at one store. I doubt it's illegal, but it's shady for sure. You aren't alone, man! We'll take down these fools one by one. :applause:

This has happened to me as well, you have to wonder about how bitter the employee is, or maybe this is a hole in the system that they are using to line their own pockets. Hmmmm!!!!

I managed to trade the GC version a while back, but the Xbox version was rejected due to the BB reference on the insert. Now I think what was really going on was they misinterpreted the no stickers on the outside of the box, to mean no BB, GR, GS, EB references anywhere on the case.

I decided not to gamble with that one, and moved on to Room Zoom, NCAA, Malice, Army Men, Destruction Derby, etc. I have about 400$ in credit, on about 150$ investment, so I'm a happy camper. I do like to use the credit on the wacky rebate sales they have all the time, it just makes my cash stretch very nicely.

How much is Gamestop giving for Bloodrayne 2?

I'm trying to decide which store since GS adds an extra 50% to the deal... and FYE's prices area always inflated anyway... I have an extra copy to trade to one store.

Bloodrayne 2 PS2 ($5 CC after BB coupon) came in at $19
Malice Xbox ($5 EBGames) was $22

$41.00 for $10 worth of games . . . but it gets better. Malice was bought with EB credit . . . which makes it less than $2.50 out of pocket.

Didn't sell:
Primal came in at $8
POP WW GC was $11

Then I bought:
Fuji 25 DVD-Rs for $13 (not a bad price)
Willy Wonka DVD $9.99 (good because I can return the $11 one from Target!)
MOH Rising Sun Xbox $9.99 new

Got one of the $10 coupons for August.

Then I went over and traded in Rising Sun for $10 in EB credit (On Madden preorder)
great . . . now I'm flipping between them

Got rejected once last week. But the wherehouse in fullerton, ca took it today. It was actually $17.50 in credit, but i took $13 cash. I also traded in a couple of broodrayne 2 and got $19.00 cash for those.

Tradestop is giving about $4.99 for it so with 50% bonus, I'd say around $10.50.

thx for the tradestop qoute on BR2, Strider... FYE is defintely the way to go then.

Unloaded two of Bloodrayne 2 (Xbox) at a Coconuts and a FYE today, both offered $19.00 cash or $23.75 credit...took credit at both and got it on gift cards without asking. Very happy about that, ordered Romance of the Three Kingdoms X once I got home :)

Sometimes FYE/Wherehouses stop accepting a title because they have too many titles. Does any have an idea how many that is, my guess is 3.

A lot of stores are giving me crap when I trade in for a lot of cash/credit, do you guys get this too? Anytime where im trading in more then 60+ in credit/cash, and come back a 2nd time in the week, I get the stink eye.
It depends on the title, the store and most importantly, the manager. Generally it is 3 but I have seen it where they stop accepting a game after they get 1 or 2 copies like Room Zoom or Unreal II

Interesting, I put in another Bloodrayne 2 ($19) and Malice ($22) and got another $41 in FYE credit.

So, $82 -10 (for 1 MOH Rising which got me $10 at EB essentially paying for the 2 Malice games)

$72 in credit for $10 of outlay . . . (2 copies of Bloodrayne 2 for $5 each after coupon at CC)

Why are you getting less for BR2 and Malice, those should be cash values not credit. Is this YMMV?
Why are you getting less for BR2 and Malice, those should be cash values not credit. Is this YMMV?
Yup, I've been getting wildly varying prices on Malice, Astro Boy (before it dropped) and NCAA March Madness 2005.

Came in to trade a copy of BR2 in a store with the new, fandangled registers. The manager told me, however, that trade in price of the game has dropped ten dollars, since the in store price dropped as well. It's not in the system yet, but sure enough, I browsed the PS2 section and saw that it has indeed dropped. Only got 9 dollars for the thing; inept employees will probably give the full 19.

Shovel it in quick!
Why are you getting less for BR2 and Malice, those should be cash values not credit. Is this YMMV?
Personally, I'm happy with these prices as store credit . . . and I don't know why the variation. Glad I got in before any drops in value.

While trading in games today the guy who's been nasty toward me in the past said that the get $10 back on a $30 purchase dosen't apply to credit purchases. Anybody else get that story???

i got $19 for bloodrayne 2 ps2, before I left the guy told me that if i reserve madden soon its only $40, so I am gonna go get another bloodrayne from CC and basically get Madden for $22.

Also I had a malice for ps2 and the trade in was $8, is the xbox version the only one that gets 20+

Update: I went back to FYE later with a Bloodrayne 2 for Xbox and a World Tour Soccer 2005, two younger people were working and since my games were still sealed (with price tags removed) they said "I bet he got those at the Circuit City clearance). And they arbitrarily looked at the games and said "I'll give u ten a piece in credit since thats how much you paid for them". I simply said, "okay I guess I'll have to ship em in to your company" and walked out. I will try again tomorrow, perhaps I will simply remove the sealing and swap with one of my old PS2 cases so the game looks like I've had it for awhile.

If you mean, if you spend $30+ and use the credit to pay for the purcahse it should definetly count. I did it last time and they didn't care. Nowhere in the terms does it say it has to be a non merchandise credit purchase.

That's a load of crap. I have six coupons that I got with credit purchases; I even asked today when I got one if credit qualified for the deal after seeing your post. You, my friend, are being shafted.

It seems like all the CAG'ers are getting the same treatment from the CSRs. Point in case today, I was treated very nicely as I was waiting to trade in my stuff, and the guy in the front of the line had some issues. I waited and then got a nice greet as I told the guy I was trading in stuff. As soon as the total came up for my trades (which was 83 cash), I started getting treated like a criminal, the cashier gives me some huff and puff show, but he still gives me the cash. Then at the end he gives me this look as if he never wants to see me again.

My question is why are these workers so concerned about the trade in's we do. Does it make them look bad as their cashiers are holding less money, which makes them look bad at the end of the day? I just don't get it, Why should an employee care so much about a corporation that would unload all their employees in a heartbeat to save their own ass.

Prices of my trade in's:
Bloodrayne 2 (PS2 and Xbox) still holdin at 19 cash as of 7pm PST Thursday
Alias XBX 12
Killzone PS2 21
Syphon Filter OS 12

I agree I don't see why workers making 6 bucks an hour should care whether or not you get $10 or $19, they almost act like its coming out of their own pockets. If it was a manager on the other hand, then i could see how he wants to look out for the best interest of HIS store.

I did it successfully in the past with credit to get $10 off DK Jungle Beat. I would guess YMMV since so many things seem to be the whim of the manager at FYE.

I don't understand why they're so uptight either... The only thing I can think of is that's just kind of a natural (or suprised)l reaction when a used game rings up for around $20 or more... since they probably buy most trade in stuff for around $5... And from their persepctive, giving out something tangible like cash rather then store credit makes it seem like the store is getting ripped.

FYE and Wherehouse seems to have the stricted policies when it comes to accepting games (condition, instructions, box, quantity in store, etc.).

I was able to get Bloodrayne 2 for $19 cash... Primal is still holding at $9.

The store can rip off these people by buying back their stuff for outrageously low prices, but as soon as one person is getting an edge on them, they get their panties in a bunch.

On a related note, I saw a mom come in to a game crazy with her 2 kids(elementry school age), and she traded in 15 PS1 games, and only got 12 dollars in credit. When I see these transactions take place more often then the CAGer type ones, it makes me feel a little bit better about how were milking their trade in values, vindication for all those getting raped by trade in prices.

I've had this problem several times in the past. When you trade in over $20 in credit that coupon will appear at the button of your credit slip. However, some of the employees take it upon themselves to rip that part off before giving you your credit slip.

I've come out ahead so many times with fye trade ins that I usually never even bother to argue with them about it.

i have a question for ppl that have traded in online at wherehouse.com. I am gonna trade in a Bloodrayne 2 (xb) Bloodrayne 2 (ps2) and a World Tour Soccer 2005 (ps2) since they are 9.99 at CC but trade for over $20, should I leave them in the original sealed packaging or open them up before I send them?

Personally, I've just always taken the packaging off so that I can double check to make sure the game isn't scratched or anything like that. I've never had problems doing it that way, so things should be fine.

okay great, im considering buying my CCs entire stock of world tour soccer 2005 and bloodraynes and sending them in batches to wherehouse so I basically can buy any new games i want for the rest of the yr at a rate of $22 per game.

hmm, thats possible, but what happens when they stop accepting the games after your, lets say, 2nd copy? Then your stuck with lots of worthless games and down a lot of money. I wouldnt gamble with buying more than 3 of the same item thats going to be used as trade fodder, but that number can be pushed to 5 if you're willing to risk it. Buying with out of pocket cash to trade in is risky.

The other problem with taking the shrinkwrap off (especially on more expensive games) is that if they don't accept the game and you can't get rid of it, you are stuck with a game you can't return. I open most of the games I trade in (especially stuff I buy for $5 or less), but if I spend more than $10 or more on a game or I know I can sell it elsewhere for a lot more sealed if FYE rejects it, then I will leave it sealed.

I didn't think wherehouse took more than one title per person? Is that only per shipment or over all shipments? If they take more than one, then i can really pimp them out.

as far as wherehouse.com accepting only 1 game per person... that's per shipment. So you can give them 100 copies of the same game, as long as they are in separate envelopes.

And as far as being stuck with tons of copies of a useless game... not really a problem if you know where to look. Just keep trading into wherehouse til they don't accept (or drop the price too low). Then take your sealed copies to stores and tell em you received it as a gift and would like to return it... you'll get store credit for it (just make sure you go to a store that actually sells it).

However, given all this information, CAG (myself included) frown upon hoarding and I would not suggest doing so. If you're CC has a buttload of them, then buy half of them or so, but definately leave some for others in your area. If you go back 2 weeks later and they are still there... then have a blast. Hope this helps!

i've checked with all my local eb games and they all say they don't sell Mailice, Room Zoom, Sneakers, or V-Rally 3. Does anyone know where i can get these games?

No surprise there, I think they sold all their copies courtesy of this thread.

Occasionally I find a copy used, but the cd has to be perfect, so check it before you buy it.

Don't forget the other good choices, you can find them easily by going to the wherehouse's website.

I wouldn't even try Sneakers or Room Zoom at this point unless you know you can return it since it seems YMMV about both games ringing up for $0.01.
I wouldn't even try Sneakers or Room Zoom at this point unless you know you can return it since it seems YMMV about both games ringing up for $0.01.
Yeah, Sneakers rang up as $0.01.

I got 3 of them for free at TRU. I considered keeping one copy for my library but then I popped it into my Xbox and discovered what a steam piling of crap it was.

Just shovel it to Blockbuster/Gamerush for credit... it was worth $10 about a week ago but dropped to $9 and then $8... I wonder if it dropped again... If you still have a copy, you better trade it in ASAP because it's plummetting in price.

SO
Room Zoom
Sneakers
and now officially today Motor trend lotus challenge are no longer accepted

That's too bad for Motor Trend, I haven't traded in a copy in 6+ months since no stores near me would even accept it because they had too many copies but it sucks another game is at the point of not being accepted. I think it's only a matter of time until Malice is there too. I doubt they are selling any copies at $44.99 used when EB can't even sell it for $4.99 new.

The value sucks but if anyone is stuck with Motor Trend: http://www.spun.com/games/sell-product-detail.jsp?id=2211687

$6.00.
