Hal Turner speaks about how the U.S. shipped 800 million Ameros to the China Development Bank in preparation for the collapse of the U.S. dollar as a currency. He describes how the U.S. government will force us to convert to the Amero for pennies on the dollar. Oh yes, and he shows us a Denver Mint pressed coin minted in 2007.

His thoughts about how the U.S. government may enact the Amero is plausible and his references about the status of the U.S. dollar are valid.

If true, it is absolutely terrifying.

Harold "Hal" Turner is an American white nationalist and white supremacist from North Bergen, New Jersey. He ran his program, The Hal Turner Show, as a webcast from his home once a week and depended on donations by his listeners. He quit the show in July 2008 for good. In August his website also closed down though he retains a blog.
Turner has often made news for his extreme right-wing views. He promotes antisemitism (including rounding up and killing Jews)[1] and opposes the existence of the state of Israel.[2] He also denies the Holocaust.[3] In 2005, Turner organized what he billed as a "rally against violence" after a white student was beaten by a black student at a high school. In 2006, he got in a fight with Jaime Vazquez, a former Jersey City deputy mayor, after Vazquez called him a racist coward. Turner has made numerous threats against political figures on his website and in other forums.

Hal Turner is a new face to me. I originally thought Hal Turner was the crazy computer in that sci-fi movie.

Well I'll be damned. I had no idea.

So does anybody want to summarize what plausible reason there is for there to ever be an Amero and the pros/cons of it? I haven't really read anything about it and I'm not gonna watch the insane neo-Nazi guy.

As of now I don't see why anybody would change to one single north american currency as I don't see the point, but I also don't see what horrible things would automatically happen if there were such a currency. So somebody give me something that isn't flavored crazy.

I've been following these types of stories. This sort of thing is considered fringe by the mainstream, but, like Ron Paul proved - most of what he was saying a year ago was considered fringe until it has recently happened.

There is a new currency coming. I'm convinced of it. Whether it's the Amero, I don't know. There are factions that want the Amero, there are factions that want a world currency. The only thing for sure is that most factions are excited about tanking the economy to get a new currency.

HAR! He called Shenanigans.

OK, OK. The dollar goes down the tube and we start using a new currency.

Then, what?

I'll get paid in the new currency. I'll sign a new lease in Ameros. I'll sign new contracts for my Internet, phone and utilities in the new currency. I will not resign my debts (credit cards, student loans, my first mortgage) in the new currency. I'll pay off my old debts for "pennies on the dollar".

It sounds like a fresh albeit painful start.

Wow, that's a pretty crazy scenario. Although I don't see a reason as to why the US would want to fuse with Canada and Mexico.

His scenario is plausible, but unlikely. I don't think foreign treasury note holders would like to have their loans repaid at two cents on the dollar in the form of another fiat currency.

And although we, the common people, may lose our savings and investments, we still have cash. Even though the government says it "worthless", doens't mean we can't still use and accept it for trade. We can use anything we want for currency. We can also barter with goods-in-hand in open markets. Wouldn't be a bad idea to stock up on ammo, though.

This idea is making me rethink Barney Frank's performance with his Republican deputy chair in the House Rules Committee hearings during the 2 financial bailout votes. He kept repeating "full faith and credit" of the United States, that we've never defaulted on any loans, and that our currency was sound. It was just so strange at the time. He kept hammering at it like he was trying to reassure someone. But it seems even stranger now, when speculating Force Majeure - something I've only ever dealt with in contracts, and never even thought would be possible for the treasury to declare. It sure is a unique way to restructure government debt. I just don't see it happening. The debt would just be restructured or renegotiated before it would be declared annulled. It would piss too many people off - especially the debt holders. I say shenanigans.

In addition, having a "genuine" Amero coin isn't irrefutable proof. Anybody can have a coin hammered. Stay up late at night or read the Sunday newspaper magazine - their are lots of coins available that aren't reserve minted or legal tender.

I think the Amero is one of the least likely conspiracy theories out there.

People accept the dollar because of confidence generated by years of use.

That confidence will be lost when forced to switch to another currency and it won't be gained by simple decree from the government.

It would take years to switch currencies without a massive segment of the population being put in pain.

Make enough people suffer bad enough and you'll have a revolt.

Right now, the controllers of the system have most of us working jobs we don't like for just enough money to keep one of our nostrils above water on the promise that things will work out some time in our 60s. They have almost all of the power. They have almost all of the control. A new currency jeopardizes all that.

I'm no genius when it comes to these things, but I'm pretty sure countries want to avoid shared/world currencies. For example, take the Amero, which would be shared by three countries. Well, Mexico's economy is in the crapper, so they start printing millions of Ameros. Well, since we use the same currency, the Amero would fall as a whole, bringing the US down with it. So we pay for Mexico's mistakes. It's not a very good thing. Having separate currencies per country is a good thing.

This guy completely discredits himself with that last comment. "God knows that the money changers that Jesus Christ threw out of the temple 2000 years ago's descendants are still around, and they've got plans to loot every single one of us" is just clear antisemitism, and really throws out any possibility I had of caring what he had to say.

One of the best books on this subject is The Late Great USA by Jerome Corsi . I have the PDF version of Late Great, but since many forum nazi's lurk in here, I can't share it with you fine, knowledge-thirsty folks. But below is a quick summation of what's covered in the book

“The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP),” which was predicated upon the writings of CFR members including Robert Pastor entitled “Creating a North American Community,” was agreed upon on March 23, 2005 by the heads of government, Mexico’s Vincente Fox, U.S.’s George W. Bush, and Canada’s Paul Martin launching the North American partnership (AKA: North American Union) at a meeting in Waco, Texas. Presumably, no one other than insiders had knowledge of the this agreement requiring Judicial Watch, a conservative public-interest law firm, to go through the Freedom of Information Act in Sep 26, 2006 to obtain the SPP documents (http://www.judicialwatch.org/5979.shtml).

---

(Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch, the public interest organization that promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law, today released records obtained under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) from the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce concerning the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.”

On March 23, 2005, heads of government Vincente Fox, George W. Bush, and Paul Martin launched the North American partnership at a meeting in Waco, Texas, with the expressed goal of “a safer, more prosperous North America.” According to the documents, the partnership’s “working groups” include government and business leaders from the United States, Mexico and Canada, who are addressing a variety of topics, including movement of goods between countries, traveler security, energy, environment and health. Proponents of the partnership claim its purpose is to increase security and prosperity for all three nations through enhanced cooperation. Critics maintain the partnership will sacrifice U.S. sovereignty by establishing a “North American Union,” with open borders and a common currency.

The Commerce Department also provided substantial documentation concerning the North American Competitiveness Council. The council consists of 30 members, 10 each from the United States, Mexico and Canada. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Council of the Americas “agreed to jointly lead the U.S. Secretariat.” Documents describing the North American Competitiveness Council’s launch, its recommendations, and meeting minutes were also uncovered by Judicial Watch’s FOIA request, which was filed on August 15, 2006.

The council’s recommendations to the North American “partnership” include advice on how to handle an international disease outbreak: “It is also essential that throughout a pandemic all borders and major roads remain open…” With respect to border enforcement, the council recommends that, “A reasonable grace period should be established at border crossings, during which time people lacking documents are educated about their options and allowed to pass.” The council also makes recommendations on energy issues such as the “…enhanced integration of the Mexican [electricity] grid with that of the United States.”

“Many Americans are interested in where this North American partnership process is going,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Given all that is at stake, the federal government has a responsibility to make sure this process is transparent and open to public scrutiny -- so the release of these documents is an important step forward.”

The newly released documents include contact lists, meeting agenda and minutes, recommendations, fact sheets, speakers’ quotes, action items, and procedural guidelines. The records are available on the Judicial Watch Internet site: www.JudicialWatch.org.
I'm not sure what him being a racist has anything to do with making valid statements about a new currency.
They're not directly tied together, but racism makes you seriously question someone's ability to think. They might be pretty knowledgeable about a subject, but you'd be right to question their judgment on just about anything that requires thought unless they've got a really good record in that subject.
