24 Season 4 Premiere, Tonight!

This is my favorite show, and I know I'm not the only fan of it who posts here. Is anyone else totally psyched for the premiere tonight? I just finished watching all of season 3 on DVD and I'm anxious to start the next season.

Anyway, just thought I'd see if there were any other cheapass fans who were as anxious as me!
 
Can't wait. I went to rottentomatoes.com earlier and heard the beep.. beep.. beep.. and I was like yay!

Haven't seen season 2 or 3, though. Can't wait. 7PM CST!
 
I've only seen the first season too. I need to find the second season cheap - anybody selling?

It looks like season 4 will have to be recorded to DVDs so I can watch everything in order.
 
I post at a 24 message board pretty frequently besides this one, and a lot of the people there argue that the second season is the best. I think everyone will agree that the third is the weakest, but still pretty good. I think it was just written to be watched in one sitting. If you liked season one, definitely pick up the other two!

I've been keeping my ears and eyes closed on spoilers for season four, so I'm really excited to go into it with basically no idea what's going to happen. I only know minor details (like the setting and one or two characters).

YES! The only thing I don't understand is they held off playing the show till January (since it takes so much time to shoot, edit, etc), and now they are going to blow through 4 episodes in a span of two days. From what I have heard, the only returning character other than Jack (in the first few episodes at least) from the previous seasons is cloyee (argh spelling) the most annoying character from season 3 IMHO.

They've already finished shooting half of the season because there will be an episode EVERY single week until the show ends, unlike when it runs through Thanksgiving and Xmas and they only have 4 or 5 episodes ready at launch.

Today = greatest day ever. Colts beat Denver and 24 premieres.

Just to clarify, it is 2 hours tonight and a different 2 hours tomorrow night, so 4-hours total premier (7AM-11AM in the plotline). It looks like I am going to have to find a VHS tape and dust off my VCR, but do I tape ABC and watch Fox, or the other way around?

I freaking love the show and can't wait for it to start. In fact, I just finished watching season 3 again yesterday to prep myself for today. I disagree with you though. I don't think season 3 could be considered weak at all. At least they found some intelligent way of incorporating Kim Baur into the show. Why do you think it's weak? You might want to pm it because we shouldn't discuss spoilers here.

Anybody wanna make a 24 thread to discuss the show without fear of spoiling anything?

i'd never seen season 1 before, although i had seen season 2 and 3 and loved them both. I bought the first season on DVD and finished it last week and it was awesome and I could see why it got so many awards. I am also quite excited for season 4.

This season should be better then the last because I had read that season 2 and 3 (maybe even 1) were only written halfway through the season and then when the show went on hiatus for the holiday break, the writers got back together and wrote the second half based on what they thought worked in the first half. In my opinion, that doesnt allow for flow from start to finish and i think in season three you could really tell that some things in the second half of the year werent set up well in the first half.

Having said that i am rediculously excited for season 4 and am looking to buy 2 and 3 on DVD. I just wish i had the patience to wait until season 4 comes on DVD to watch it all because i know waiting from week to week for another episode is going to be very hard. Alas, i dont have the patience to wait until next fall to watch this wonderful show again.

1st was good, 2nd was awesome, 3rd was weak. I actually quit watching it because I didn't care! I'm excited for this one, though. Hopefully it will get back on track.
 
I'm going to try to start watching the show again. I haven't watched 24 since about the middle of the second season, though. Does anyone know of any sites that have a recap of the previous seasons?

This is correct, only Chloe and Jack are returning. There is at least one character that is going to return in February though, apparently. I don't want to give away who it is though.

Don't get me wrong, I love season 3! But among the three, it is the weakest! I definitely think it is a great season. It's VERY good. But by comparison, I think it's weaker, but not by much.

And since you mention it, I just finished watching season 3 a few days ago and I actually like it more now that I watched it all at once. It feels like they wrote it so you'd watch it all at once.

I know for certain that they only wrote 13 episodes for season one when it originally aired. If you watch season one, you know what I'm talking about. Everything is pretty much wrapped up and then in the last five minutes of the episode the plot unfolds once again.
 
Season 1 on DVD got me hooked onto 24 and now that Season 4 is starting, I'm pretty excited. BUT I won't be watching. I need to get S2/3 on DVD first because I want to watch them in order and to see the character progression. I can wait till S4 is on DVD. I would imagine it would drive me nuts if I started following S4 on tv and then I missed an episode.

Holy freakin crap, that was a ride. This is gonna stir up so much controversy this season. I can't wait until tomorrow night!!!
 
I gotta start watching the other seasons now. This was the first time I ever watched 24 and it was very good. I def. plan on watching some more tomorrow night
 
I've been watching the first season on DVD for the past few days, and I'm hooked. I'm kicking myself for not watching this series sooner.

It was a good premiere tonight. I can't wait for tomorrow's episodes.

I duno if its my lack of "television veiwing" but im really clueless on when these shows air. Im glad you made this post and Luckily I just received my DVR from my cable company so i can record it.

Mondays apparently, 7PM CST.. tomorrow night there will be another 2 hour block.

This is perfect. Monday nights will now be 7pm = 24 and 8-10pm = Raw.. YAY!
 
I thought the episodes were very good. I really don't miss the rest of the cast, although their replacements seemed rather blah to me too (excluding the Defense Secretary). I'm looking forward to tomorrow night.

So what do you think is in the briefcase? Bomb? Remote terminal? (Speculation only, please no spoilers)

Yah, i was looking through the guide and notice there was 2 more episodes tomorrow, so i was wondering when new eposides air so i can set it to record future episodes.
 
definately a good start to the new season, i thought it would be wierd not having the normal characters around, but its not too bad, but i miss tony!

I hope they explain what happened with Tony and Michelle. I think the 2 of them return because in some Season 4 interviews I watched, they both were interviewed.

I just hate that CTU seemed so useless without Jack tonight. It wouldn't be that bad.

I bet it's the "football" (nuclear button).

Season 2 is definately the best so far, how can you top averting WWIII?
Hopefully Season 4 will!
