Before anyone bash about how this is not blu ray..... this is a good price for anyone that still needs to complete 24 series.

Best Buy has this for $9.99 on sale this week.

The reason why I think is a good deal because:

1. I have the dvd of other seasons

2. Dont think this will be on blu ray anytime soon

I remember a long time ago they had season 1 special edition in a metal case on sale with a sticker that took of money if purchase seasons 1-6. I think I got seasons 1-6 for like around $30-$35.

Im sure someone here that dont have this can use it as a filler for the online BB store pickup $50 movies or games and get a $10 promo code

Just like burn notice and white collar. Wonder why companies do that?[/QUOTE]

The one that annoys me the most is Damages, only Season 1 on Blue....

I really can't stand when companies don't just put them all out on Blue

It's most likely that they do test runs of blu-rays and if they don't sell well then they won't bother converting the rest of the seasons.

It's a business -shrugs-

It isn't quite the same. With Burn Notice and White Collar they tried Blu-ray and then stopped. With 24 they released Season 7 and 8 on Blu-ray at the same time as the DVD, they just haven't gone back and done the older seasons.

I'm sure there are a lot more people willing to buy new seasons on Blu-ray then people willing to upgrade the seasons they already have on DVD.

Yep, that's pretty much the gist of it. Blu-ray either wasn't around (1-4) or wasn't considered commercial enough yet (5-6) for the first six seasons (or Redemption, which is honestly when I thought they'd first test the waters with a blu-ray release), so they didn't start doing blu-ray releases until season 7, day and date with the DVD releases.

I imagine the older seasons may get a blu-ray release one day (maybe around the time the movie comes out, if that ever happens), but at the moment I doubt it's at the top of their priority list (there's nothing major to promote, and they probably figure most new fans who want to get into it will just pick up the complete series set or stream it online).

Thanks alot my brother loves 24 so this will do for him.

Glad it helped somebody here.

I understand they were testing the water when relasing blu ray, but come on $50-$55 on release day? Way overpriced.

Breaking bad Season 4 is $24.99. Is it worth keeping? I never watch the show, but keep hearing that it's good. BB game me the season 4 with the promo shirt...

Pay $7.99 for a month of Netflix and stream the entire series in HD.. then buy the Blu set when it comes out, which I'm sure will be around the time the movie releases.
