25% Off Used Games/DVDs at EB/GS

It sucks they're treating you like a bald-headed step child. If it makes you feel better I don't like them either.

Sigh...remember when it was always 25% with free shipping and case and manual?
Remember when EBgames used to answer my emails. Those were the days...

Thanks for the post ! Are there any good deals for 360 games?
I remember we could get 26% off :( (or was it 16%?)
26% with free shipping if the order was over $50 and you had the Edge card, or 25% off if the order was under $50. Those were the good ol' days.

The only time I've ordered used from EB/Gamestop in the past year or so was with the $10 Diamond card glitch.

Ya fucking hate supporting them now...their just a huge faceless corporation that not only doesnt care but almost seems to take pleasure in reaming our asses. I mean every corp is that way....but now they are powerfull enough to get away with it with zero results.

Anyways. DOes anyone know how long this goes on for? I might suggest my fiancee use this for Christmas shopping for me but we cant afford to do it tonight.

I miss the days of showing up to work 5 minutes early just to get in on the EB morning update.. now I show up 5 minutes late. You could trade in fodder during deals, rack up on the Edge, and get any game you wanted.

I'll never buy again online from EB/GS until they'll ALWAYS ship COMPLETE games! I'm still missing the booklet of ZOE2 that GS didn't include :bomb:!!!

I will also never order online for the same reason. They don't even let you use gift cards/store credit anymore. :whistle2:&

the last few games I bought from them looked they were rubbed on concrete.

the ones that did come with cases + manuals had tons of stickers and were all bent out of shape.

fuck those fucking fucks.

Are there any good deals for 360 games?

34.99 games - $8.75 off

26.99 games - $6.75 off

54.99 games - $13.75 off

tempted to buy burnout for $20 before shipping but.....nahhhhh

Yeah... and remember when they used to send out complete games? Those were good times.:whistle2:(
I would actually use this coupon if I knew I was going to get a complete game.
Same here. They totally suck online now. The store locator is the only semi-redeemable feature of that site.

I can barely even shop at EB/Gamestop IN store these days. I went in during the B2G1 sale a few weeks back, had an hand full of games (including Gitaroo Man) and then realized that they had started putting stickers UNDER the plastic of the case on the artwork itself! Being very anal about my games, I put my haul back on the shelf and walked out. Ah, for the good ole days....

With the old system, filled with its 25% or 26% off and free shipping, I used to order used games at least two or three times a week. Why? Geez, when you can start grabbing quality games for just a few bucks a pop there's something to be said for the savings. Combine that with the fact that I would be clearing out games that only other CAGers would care about, or some old-school-minded fans would have any interest in, I'm just clearing old used inventory they would just junk anyway.

But now...good lord. I won't do it again. Two years of EB used packages (across around 50 seperate orders) and not a single destroyed or damaged game whatsoever compared to two months of EB/GS used packages (around 4 different orders) where half of the games are either defective or absolutely ruined. I'm far less than thrilled by this.

At least the discount is about right for the more expensive games, though. It really drives down the somewhat inflated prices of other games, thankfully. And, if you're really desperate for a particular title, it's worth going for. At worst you get angry at getting a frisbee and you toss it back at EB/GS and get a refund or an exchange for the garbage they sent.

I recently got a Super Smash Bros from EB online and it didn't even play in my GC. Went to my local EB and got an exchange and played like a charm! But I've definitely noticed the drop-off in the quality... not cool

Why couldn't Sony have sunk them instead of Lik-Sang. At least with no EB, someone would come along to fill in their spot and there'd be a chance that they'd be good. Now... meh.

I was wondering the other day. If enough people called their offices and complained about incomplete games, do you think this company would ever stop taking disc only games and start selling them complete? It is so ridiculous that they would even consider taking a game disc without the case and manual in the first place.:bomb:
One used DS game in stock. ONE! And it's Sea World: Shamu's Deep Sea Adventure - Used

Great sale, thanks EB!

Even my local stores have crap for used DS games. People must not be trading them in for whatever reason.

All this makes me wonder if any of the old guard EB execs are still around in the new organization, and if they butt heads with the GS buttheads about how they've fucked up the company. :)
Probably not, though...if they're like most execs I know, they're whores and will just follow the money.

WOW! Hadn't checked the online store for used games in a while. What happened??? There selection is pathetic. I used to buy so many GB/GBC/GBA and other games but now they have nothing. 7 GBA games!!! Am I missing something. Did they stop taking trade ins on these games too? Don't understand their company mission statement. Your "supposed" to be about selling used games and movies. That's how you became strong and were able to overtake the competition. I guess they got away from their core strengths and now have some suits who have no clue about the gaming business. I guess their trying to become the next Best Buy or Circuit City. Don't they realize they can't compete with them, hell even Walmart undercuts them. I would not be shocked if members of their board have worked for these previous companies. Guess I'll have to wait for another buy 2G1 promotion to visit the local shops, which will probabaly end up be during the christmas holiday.

Very true. I've seen very few used DS games at the stores I've gone into. Guess I'll have to wait for price drops or sales on new games.

Well, even though I've complained about this sale for DS games, I had to bite on some Xbox games. Picked up:

XIII $2.99
Indiana Jones & the Emperor's Tomb $5.99
Blood Wake $3.74
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath $13.49

Total with tax and shipping $30.68

So, a pretty good haul.

As a true CAG I'm always torn on a % off sale. Getting a cheap game is good, but the discount is not as great ($2 off an $8 game). But even though you get a bigger discount on a more expensive game ($10 off a $40 game), it's still expensive! Oh cheapness, why do you taunt me so?!?

Thanks Cheapy D for the post.

You could've purchase Oddworld at K-Mart for $5...

I sure do. Those were good times, I used to order used stuff from EB all of the time, like usually every few days.

Today, I can't find a single good reason to order from their site or even step into their stores for that matter. I used to at least be able to find older games for a good price, now everything is jacked up way above Ebay prices. And no more retro games. No used PC games. No complete games on the website.

There is no compelling reason to do business with these guys anymore.

And the funny thing is....I bet they have lost more bussines then they have gained doing away with the 26% + Free shipping and handling. I doubt many people that are not CAGs or watch similar sites knew they could get that deal. It means by getting rid of it all they did was loose the 10,000s if not 100,000s of dollars we pumped into their sales. I mean I know I alone was spending probally near a grand or more a year when those codes were going.
the last few games I bought from them looked they were rubbed on concrete.
It's cause it's usually defective games that got sent back to the warehouse to be resurfaced. That also explains why they're usually disc only too, since they get sent back to the WH as disc only.

See the thing I don't understand is that people complain that they get disc only copies of games yet when GS/EB has a trade x get x amount people on the forum trade in disc only games.

Doesn't make sense.

Same here. I bought over 100 games from EB/GS in 2005. This year, maybe a dozen or so. It's not that I'm spending less money on games; it's just that I'm spending less money on games at EB/GS.

And incomplete games = no sale in my book. If you want to add poor quality (i.e. scratched discs), higher prices, and bad service to the list, then the only reason to ever shop at EB/GS is when you're deliberately taking advantage of some kind of sale/deal.

The only time i ever go into an EB or GS is if I see a big "B2G1" sign hanging on the front door...otherwise drive 2 mins and get it new at BestBuy (through gamer giftcard and sometimes reward zone stuff) for less then i would pay for a used/broken copy at the Efuncobabagestop

What's funny is that they trade in disc only because they want to keep the cover art in case they rebuy later and get stuck with a disc only copy.
