Because of the new season of Sam & Max launching next week, Telltale marked down all Sam & Max merchandise by 30%. This happens to include games (except the upcoming season obviously), which means you can get both seasons of Sam & Max for $20.97 each. They also have the first season for the Wii at the same price. (Of course, this sale also includes t-shirts, caps, books, DVDs, etc.) The deal expires April 30th.

Great time to catch up if you haven't played these fantastic games!

picking up the soundtrack bundle plus Season two grab bag is only 18... but I don't want to make an account to see what shipping is.

would be worth the hassle for free shipping... cheapass as I am.

Shipping will kill this deal if you buy any merch. $7.60 USPS priority shipping for the $10 "Surfin' the Highway" paperback. This deal is arguably better if you're downloading the games only.

thinking about getting season 1 and 2 on PC, shipping only $5.

ive read that the wii version of sam and max is quite glitchy. can anyone confirm this, or share their opinions on the matter?

You actually don't have to pay for shipping now if you don't want to. I typically buy the digital version and wait until they do a free shipping deal to get them to send the DVD. They tend to do those deals a few times a year (although some do require a minimum purchase). Of course, $5 isn't much as far as shipping goes, so all a matter of if you want the DVDs now or not.
Man, I haven't even gotten through season 1 and I might be buying season two.

Ouch. Backlog it up.
Second season is much improved over the first, but I'd definitely recommend playing the first as some jokes in the second won't make sense otherwise.

season 1 on the wii isnt glitchy for me. just very repitive. it seems like every episode (I've done 4 so far) requires 1. helping sybil in her new job 2. finding money to buy the puzzle solution from bosco's. and way too much walking back and forth to flip this switch and then re-talk to the person.

Terrible orignal post. This deal is only for the Merchandise as stated and not the games. Plus the sale ends April 11th (TODAY) not April 30th.

I've finished season 1 and got 2 episodes deep into season 2 and this formula stays pretty true. Though season 2 is not so much about buying something from Bosco's (a wonderful chocolate syrup from my youth) and helping Sybil, it's the same formula with other characters. So if you're not liking that in the first one, skip season 2, IMO.

Personally, I thought the second season did a good enough job moving away from that model (which I sort of saw as a running joke in the first season). There is a lot more variety in characters, and I really can't think of any character you have to interact with each episode in the way you did with Sybil and Bosco in season one. Sure, you interact with Stinky a lot, but each episode has a different reason, and I think there are a couple you don't need her for.

pretty cool but man the shipping. i wanted to get season 2 case files for $2.50 but 5 bucks shipping. i know its not a lot but it is more than im willing to pay for it. i wish the soundtrack cd's were about 5 dollars cheaper to. im still thinking about it though

Only 30% off merchandise, too. Looks like the 'limited time' for 50% is up.

Odd, the banners said the sale went until the 30th and didn't stipulate that the 50% off was limited. *shrug* I'll update the the title.

Oh man, I went to go back from yesterday and checkout and it switched to 30%.... then I saw the shipping cost. What a crock, I'll just wait for a XBLA sale now.
Could someone tell me what the difference is between season 2 of Sam & Max on the Telltale website and season 2 of Sam & Max on Amazon other than the box art and the price?

http://www.amazon.com/Sam-Max-Beyon..._4?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1271227109&sr=8-4

I am guessing the one from the Telltale website has more features but I would like to make sure since the Amazon one is cheaper.
The box art is different, like you said. The version from Telltale's website also comes with a collector's DVD which contains behind the scenes stuff, commentary, concept art, etc. Basically, it comes down to if you want to pay the extra money for that.

I see. I own the retail season one box set Amazon sells but I am guessing the season one set on Telltale will probably have more extras like how you mentioned the season two one does. I will keep it in mind when I make a decision. Thanks for the heads up! :)
