30% Trade-In Bonus...is Back...Again...
@jezebelseven
care to scan the reciept or give us the total of your trade ins?
:applause:thanks for sharing.
Scanner's busted (not that the reciept would fit on a scanner bed, it's practically 3 feet tall...), but total was $373.80 after bonus and edge card.
Single copies of all games except Elite Beat Agents (2) and Rogue Galaxy (2).

Finally get a chance to trade in the 360 games I won't play anymore: Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3, and Madden 08. Oh and necrojustice, if you've had any doubts, Rock Band is totally worth it ;)
Just got back - coupon worked great. $275 for 12 games. mucho gracias CAG
Could you please post what games you traded in and the values please?
Yeah...unless you cherish your time. In that case, stay away...stay far away...
Speaking of RB, I just beat Green Grass and High Tides on expert guitar... first time I've beaten all the songs on expert on one of these guitar games. I know it's not as hard as II or III (which I continue to work on), but it still felt like a great accomplishment.

Okay, I bit once I found the 10% off coupon and went ahead with some trades toward Rockband...
Base value is first, followed by 40% bonus value in parentheses.

Wii
Super Mario Galaxy....$30.00 ...($42.00)
Super Paper Mario....$16.00... ($22.40)

PSP
Parappa The Rapper... $8.00... ($11.20)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops...$7.00... ($9.80)
Lumines... $9.00... ($12.60)

DS
Clubhouse Games... $9.00... ($12.60)
LOZ: Phantom Hourglass... $18.00... ($25.20)
Hotel Dusk... $9.00... ($12.60)
Pokemon: Diamond... $18.00... ($25.20)

GC
Smash Bros. Melee...$14.00... ($19.60)

Total: 193.20 after EDGE and coupons.

Also of note: I calculated how much I had originally spent on all of these games, and I ended getting back all but 54 bucks of what I had originally paid for them. That's only a devaluation of $5.40 per game. It pays to be a CAG.

Mario Galaxy + Metroid 3 + ZeldaTP = Last copy of Guitar Hero III

Pretty good considering what I paid for these originally. I've been waiting for this deal to pop up.

Okay, I used the coupon posted here for 30%, then bought an Edge card for the extra 10%. The prices are after both percents were applied.

Wii:

Medal of Honor Heroes - $25.20
Avatar: Last Airbender - $8.40
Avatar: Burning Earth - $15.40
Mario Strikers - $23.80
Resident Evil: UC - $30.80
Carnival Games - $28.00
Battalion Wars 2 - $22.40
Big Brain Academy - $23.80
Resident Evil 4 - $16.80
Red Steel - $11.20

360:
Halo 3 - $39.20
Mass Effect - $42

total - $287 - $15 for the edge card

Does anyone know if you can use the 30% trade in coupon on systems?

I know people have been speculating in this thread but has anyone actually tried? The coupons doesn't specifically state no system trade ins.

someone always asks the above question everytime a deal like this is posted... these coupons never work with system trade ins, if edge doesnt work with system trade ins , why would these? most of the time if u just look at the fine print it says hardware trade ins excluded.

actually, more YMMV cause I have traded in a Gameboy Micro with that coupon without any problems.

Anyone know the trade in value of stuntman ignition for the x360? It dropped in price today at gamerush, might be good for transferring credit to eb with the coupon for this.

I didn't see these games in the Wiki, so I figured I would ask here. Does anyone know the trade in values for:

Crush (PSP)
Oblivion GOTY (360)

Anyone asking trade in values could just call there GS. The employess will tell you how much they are currently trading in for. It's a lot faster then asking in this forum.

Trades this afternoon (pre/post 40%):

Eternal Sonata (360): $20/28
Phantom Hourglass (DS): $18/25.20
X-Men Legends 2 (PS2): $3/4.20

Probably common sense but if you're looking to purchase something else after you trade in, there's that 10% off coupon floating around as well. Make it two separate transactions and I was able to get a brand-new copy of NHL 08 and the Forza/Ultimate Alliance bundle for $3.84 out of pocket using both the trade-in and 10% off coupons.

Thanks for thecoupon OP. I always think to myself "oooh, ok, cool, I'll trade in 'x' and 'x' and get some credit for them", then I proceed to the wiki or in this case, these last few posts, and get completely disgusted. :puke:

Not with my GameStop - when I call in, they always say "I'm not supposed to give trade-in values unless you are actually trading in the game in the store, but if you only want one or two, I can tell you." Their logic being "Make them come into the store to get the values, when they will probably just say 'That's a rip-off, but I'm here anyway, so ok,' versus someing seeing its a ripoff on the phone and not coming in at all."

My EB did that before they were bought by GS. In 6 years I never had a problem were GS wouldn't give me Trade Credit values. I keep it to a max of 3 though. Any more then that they seem to get irritated :D

Here are the ones I just traded in:

Warhawk $14.00/19.60
Need for Speed Carbon $9.00/12.60
Fight Night Round 3 $8.00/11.20
NBA Street Homecourt $8.00/11.20
Rainbow Six Vegas $11.00/$15.40
Far Cry: Instincts/Predator $7.00/9.80
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune $25.00/35.00
Marvel Ultimate/Forza 2: $8.00/11.20
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One $3.00/4.20
Guitar Hero 2 Guitar only $15.00/16.50

Preowned games total= $146.70

woohoo! thanks op!

What exactly determines how you pay tax at EB? I just realized when using my $88 trade-in credit to buy GHIII, I only paid tax on the extra couple dollars needed to buy the game.

When you use credit you have to pay no tax whatsoever. They taxed you those actual couple bucks out of your pocket.

Prices pre/post 40%:

DS:
Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime: $5/$7
Age Of Empires: $4/$5.60

PS3:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma: $16/$22.40
Resistance: Fall Of Man: $20/$28
Motorstorm: $9/$12.60
Heavenly Sword: $22/$30.80

YMMV on this one. My local store in Manhattan I don't pay tax on when I use credit to buy games, but when I was visiting my folks in MD I had to pay tax even when I used only credit to buy a game. Not sure whether it varies state to state or if it's on a store basis - I just stick with my local store nowadays.

I concur. I just got Rockband with store credit, and still had to pay tax, so it is definitely YMMV.

Woo-hoo! Prices are pre-/post-bonus:

Assassin's Creed (360): $30 / $42
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: $18 / $25.20
FFXII: $7 / $9.80

Not bad, seeing as how I bought FFXII for $5 at TRU. I should have picked up more of those clearance games as filler for these "trade 3" promos.

If anyone is thinking of buying a copy of smash bros melee used at gamestop, don't. They're selling it used for $35 and amazon has it new for $30.

My store is pretty weird. If you trade in stuff and they keep teh acount open and you use that credit to immediately buy something, it's tax free. But once that transaction is closed out and the credit switches medium (edge card, gift card), purchases become taxable.
Halo 3 is down to $28 now, guess they have a crapload of it lol.
My store has it for $26.

Prices are Before Bonus/After 40%

Kirby Squeak Squad $10/$14.00
Super Princess Peach $10/$14.00
Viva Pinata $6/$8.40
Kameo $3/$4.20
Marvel/Forza 2 $8/11.20
Crackdown $6/8.40

Thanks CAG, with this and my DVD's I got $76.70.

I Got:

EDGE CARD
12 Issues of GI
StrangleHold
COD3
Tomb Raider: Legend
Burnout 3
Cars DS
JL:Heroes DS
Spider Man Friend or Foe DS

I traded in:

Assassin's Creed 360 30.00/42.00

Super Mario Galaxy Wii 30.00/42.00

Mario Party 8 Wii 25.00/What ever that is

Halo 3 360 28.00

Orange Box 360 24.00

I ended up with $191.20 Credit. Not too shabby for only trading in 5 games :D

For Io, if he's still updating the Wiki (these are non-discounted trade rates as of this writing):

Super Paper Mario Wii 16.00
The Darkness 360 6.00
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Reg. Ed) 3.00
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns PS2 7.00
Snoopy vs The Red Baron PS2 5.00

If you were able to pick up Fire Pro @ amazon or wherever else it was less than $8, then you'd actually make a little profit with the coupon + Edge.
