($32.98 for both!) Order Monsters Inc. BD AND UP BD (same order) and save $10

Anyone remember about how much Pixar movies have gone for at BB when they released in the past? Thinking about just buying UP at BB and getting the steel case and waiting on monsters inc for a while.

The best price usually you see at BB during launch week would be $24.99, but with a title like UP, it wouldn't surprise me if they left it at $29.99 and gave away a "free" item along with the blu-ray.
price drop on UP
My order reflected the change. Thank you BB for putting BR's on sale this week.

Monsters Inc. is also $24.49 at BB, so hopefully Amazon will catch that price and drop it as well.

Thanks for posting this review! My wife and I loved this movie so it was already a day-one purchase for us. Always nice to have another reference disc. :)

At $40.26 for my grand total after Gold Box...Come on Amazon! Keep dropping those prices! I'd love to get these both for below $20/set.:bouncy:
does not seem worth it to me for 44 for both, even 40 for both. am i missing something why people are pre-ordering these?
Probably a number of reasons. Pixar IMO puts out some of the best films, their Blu's are always quality releases and reference tier. I don't really care about or use the included DVD or digital copy, but getting more for your money is never a bad thing, and I know a lot of people like to give the DVD's to their kids. $20 for a Pixar release is pretty much as low as it is going to get.
I ordered two seperately and they combined my order and gave me the discount. When I ordered Monsters originally a random "Snow White Thanks" was applied to the order for an extra $10 off. I guess its something to do with my snow white blu ray purchase. So my total for 2 combined is under $25. I expect the prices to drop lower on both titles closer to release.
I've been trying to figure this post out... Even if you got an additional $10 off, how does that make it any less than $31 for both?

I also bought the Snow White Blu-ray, and I want to know how I can get another $10 off! Was it a promo code, or did it just randomly apply?

Any ideas?

i understand that pixar movies are awesome, that is why i own them all on bluray. the reason i was asking is the price point, disney as of late is putting alot of coupons out there.

the $10 off coupon for the up blu is a given, thus making the movie at most in store 15, say monsters inc is less than 25 or as is the habit with other stores, 20 on release week plus the possibility for a coupon for that movie (if bugs life is any indicator there will not be a coupon) but you are looking at about 35 or less for both and sub 20 as a guarantee for up. price point does not make sense, for me anyway

Monsters Inc. just got the price drop to 24.49 as well making it sub $40 for the 2 combined.

I was waiting for one of them to show up in my gold box, but with the price drops I went ahead and put in a preorder. Thanks!

I already bought Monsters, Inc. (4 disc blu-ray) and Snow White (blu-ray) but nothing has shipped yet because Monsters, Inc. isn't available yet. What happens if I add UP to my order and how do I go about doing this? I don't want to lost the nice sale price on Snow White from a few weeks ago.

Looks like Monster Inc. just dropped to $24.49, so both BR's for $38.98 after $10 coupon. Two great Pixar films under $20 each is well worth pre-ordering. I just hope BB or Target have any exclusives, either than the steel book from BB.

I would try adding UP and then contacting Amazon CS directly about adjusting the $10 difference. Never hurts to try, especially with how flexible Amazon is in taking care of their customers.

Just did the same. $38.XX for the 2 is pretty awesome! :D

Bingo, that puts them below my $40 ceiling. Now if Amazon will only throw in a few more drops between now and November 10 ($19.99 each or below would be nice)...

I'm still on the edge on this, I don't know why, just am. I went ahead and placed an order though to get in on the deal, might cancel before they ship though

Really? I thought Pixar releases almost never came with coupons. Even with Up being $15 and Monster's Inc $20 (which I doubt), it still comes to like $36.xx after tax, so paying the 2 bucks extra for Amazon's quality service is worth it to me.

Plus there's no guarantee that they will be that low in-store, and Amazon could end up dropping Up or Monster's Inc. even lower.

I think they eventually do it on their own. I just don't know how long it takes. My orders for Hangover and Harry Potter both went down, and nothings changed yet

I ordered the two, though I might cancel. If I can sell my DVD of Monsters, Inc. in the next few days I'll definitely keep it in.
Does UP still come with the steelbook?
It does if you pre-order from Best Buy.

Nice. Already have Monsters, Inc., and I also think Up will be discounted like Wall-E was last year during the holidays.

I just re-did my order for Up and Big Trouble in Little China. So shrike, you got the BB steelbook pre-order, right? Sorry I forget, can we cancel that and keep the steelbook?
Up dropped in price to $22.99. My order hasn't reflected that yet, so it's time to email them. Again.
ditto.
sure to like their quick E-mail contact option.

So in an educate the n00b moment, do Disney steelbooks tend to hold their value? Or would I be sinking the $7.50 purely for my enjoyment? I noticed they have a few in stock at my local Best Buy and just can't decide, as I've never really collected steelbooks for DVDs/BDs before...

Up! was an excellent flick, snag snag snag!
smile

Does emailing them usually work better then waiting for them to do it? I have UP that dropped in price, as well as the hangover that dropped a dollar

typically you'll see the price drop on your order within 24 hours... I used to email them but anymore I've just let things update on their own... if I don't see the price change after 24 hours I'd definately email tho.

don't buy dvd's as investment properties. buy it if you like it, enjoy it, and move on.

100% agree, if that is why you are buying it, leave it for someone who wants it

I finally bit on the deal today. Thanks for all of the info everyone. I'll have to keep an eye on it, but with Prime, I'll get them on day 1 for less than $20 each. I can definitely live with that. Up is probably my favorite Pixar film to this point, so I'm very anxious to see it again.
Yes, and yes.
Muchos gracias, good sir. Kind of wish I had waited on Monsters, Inc., but I guess I'm good with the UK version. >_

I ordered Up by itself before reading this thread, then immediately canceled my order and bundled Up with Monsters, Inc. Less than $40 for two of the best animated movies ever on Blu-ray is awesome.

For people that pre-ordered Monster Inc and Up is their new total 37.48? I'm having trouble following what the exact price drop was and I'm not sure if I need to contact Amazon. I'm not complaining if this is the price, these two movies on blu for under $40 is sick

I have no interest in investing in one for the purposes of reselling... my question was merely intended to get at the possibility of whether I could just pick one up a year from now for ~$7.50 if I want to then, or whether I need to buy it now in order to get it at this price.
