eBay daily deal maybe? I haven't clicked the link to check but this happens a lot with buy.com. They do $35/$40 12 month cards pretty frequently through eBay daily deals. If you need one and it's being sold by tiger direct then snag one. It's sure to be legit.

You're exactly right... there were only 511 sold when I bought mine at 11:19 am and that last one bought was at 12:31pm (EST).

3989 sold - 511 / 72 minutes /60 sec = one sold every .8 seconds!!!!
