Hey, I've seen a few threads relating to game disc discoloration, and I was wondering if anyone knows alot about it. Some people say its harmless, others say they have problems with the disc being read (saints row 2, mw2, and red dead, are the ones I've heard complaints about the most). I was wondering if it actually has any long term effects on the disc (unplayable, or problems as time goes on), or if it really is just a manufacturing defect with no effect on gameplay or the lifespan of the disc. I've heard people call it delamination or rot, but I don't think that would be the case already on brand new games that have just came out. Thanks for any information or help.

Disc staining. It's completely harmless based on what I've read. It seems to be more common with 360 games, but I have a number of movies and PS2 games with similar discoloration.
