360 Elite: Q: How will the audio from HDMI hook up with an LCD monitor?

Sorry, the subject wasn't a very informative question, but here's what I'm wanting to know. My knowledge of HDMI is not that great so forgive me if I misspeak on something.

I do not have a HD-TV. One reason I'm getting the Xbox 360 Elite is because it has an HDMI plug so that I can plug into my monitor. The one thing I didn't think about at first was, what about the audio? Now it is to my understanding that Audio runs in HDMI. If the only cable I have is going to my monitor, how will I get audio???

Because they're not going to have the audio plugs routed off the HDMI cable so as to fit my situation b/c not many will do what I am proposing. I thought that i could plug the composite cables in as well and try and get them to work like so, if this even worked, it would probably pull some video quality that i didn't want to pull...I'm at a definate loss to know what to do. I've not seen an HDMI > DVI converter that has audio ports coming out of it. If they make them I guess I've not looked hard enough.

Just to point out I know that there is a composite to D-SUB cable made for the 360, but if i can get the HDMI to work, I think that would be a better fit for me. PLEASE HELP

My PS3 is hooked up to my TV via HDMI but I use optical for sound and I would imagine the new 360 will have some sort of option to do the same.

The elite will have a separate audio cable that uses the normal video/audio out port and have optical and RCA out jacks if i remember correctly.

yeah, that's what the first guy told me. and i found a picture of the box contents, and it's there. you can see it. so i'm very happy. :) don't have to spend $40 on a d-sub converter now...
