Mine is working fine and has been since day one. Only problem I had was self induced. I had my 360 hooked to my gradparents HD and had the AV cable switched to "TV", so while running I switched it to "HD". The system shutdown the game and displayed the "RED" lights. Obviously any improvement, little or big, means a somewhat better product than the original. This being said, it doesn't mean the older version is bad. Look at the Ipod.
