I dont see why people think the 360 is that loud. I have a launch console and it doesnt said like a chainsaw...

You know, in the past few months, I've had literally more discretionary income than I have free time to spend -- and I only work part-time! I'm not bragging; my having a lot of extra money is central to my point.
Considering that, I've been at the store, looking at PS3 stuff, at least a dozen times. The $600 is really no object to me, because I've set aside much more than that for completely frivolous purposes between now and December. EVEN THEN -- I haven't bought a PS3, because there isn't a single game that would take me away from my options on 360 and PS2.
I'll be buying one in two weeks, because Ninja Gaiden Sigma is coming out. This isn't because I HAVE TO PLAY Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but because I am pretty desperate for a reason to buy a PS3! When the only incentive for someone who isn't concerned about the $600 is an upgraded XBox game that the customer has already played, you know that there's a serious problem.
So, basically, I'd pretty sternly recommend against buying a PS3 if you're making your purchase right now. If your budget is tight, you're best off sticking with your PS2 for a few more months. The 360's an awesome platform, but it's a luxery item as of right now, and it just doesn't have enough of a library for me, a proud owner, to recommend to anyone whose decisions are hard to make.

This hasn't been said yet, but maybe it should be: if you do buy a 360, you can essentially buy a Wii with the money you've saved. The 360 and the Wii currently both have significantly more exclusive titles than the PS3.
Now, as a current Wii owner I cannot recommend buying a Wii as of now. While there are a number of fantastic titles on the Wii (and all the fantastic titles on the Wii are exclusives), the best is yet to come. Games like Smash Bros and Super Mario Galaxy make the system a must-have on their own.
Ontop of that, the Wii has riddiculous sales figures. If history tells us ANYTHING it's that the console with high sales will get a shit-load of games. I expect some fantastic experiences from my Wii, stuff that I simply couldn't ever get on a 360 or a PS3.
For roughly the same price as a PS3, someone on a tight budget could likely get three or four times the number of titles by purchasing an Xbox 360 and a Wii.
If you are on a tight budget, that is something to think of. And if you can't purchase all three consoles now, it's undoubtedy the best way to get the most bang for your buck.

Dead Rising is the only game that makes me want a 360
Everytime I'm at a store that sells games I stare at the 360 for awhile...but then when I look at the games and the only one I want is Dead Rising I pass.
I'm also afraid of it breaking. No console has broken on me yet (GC came close, but it only gave me problems with Resident Evil games.)

I am really shocked that you could play gears of war and not want that as well (assuming you have).
Gears of War, Oblivion, and Dead Rising are enough to get a 360 for.

I just have a thing against CliffyB so I can't bring myself to enjoy Gears. I swear he made one of the characters have a resemblence to himself.
As for Oblivion I have a PC/PS3 so I'm good when I decide to get it (again) :lol: .
But Dead Rising...it was awesome when I played it at a friends house and I do want it....but I need more to get me to drop the $$ on it.

I never said I hated it, just that I couldn't stand it due to him. And if I had a 360 I probably would play it through a rental. I only care about the single player since I'm not one who plays online very much and I hear the single player is very short.
