360 wheel OOP?

the official microsoft wheel is no longer listed on amazon or gamestop, as far as i can tell. Did microsoft stop manufacturing it? I heard nothing about that. I was waiting for an msrp under a $100 to pick it up, but maybe i'm too late?

i think they had some sort of problem with it where people had to send them back to be corrected... a sort of recall?
i'm assuming that has something to do with it.

The key prase in that article is

'The Wheels were manufactured during 2006 - 2007'

So i guess they are OOP. That sucks. i hope i can find one clearanced.

I've got one that I haven't been used, sent in the form for the retrofit but haven't heard anything from them yet.

I saw one on the shelf at Target last night, that's strange if they have been recalled. Maybe not all of them were affected.

Does anyone know if the 3rd party wheels are of the same quality? I saw a new logitech one at EBStop that didn't look too bad for $79 ... I was concerned that the MS one comes with PGR3, but then found that it's only $15 used.
