The description says it comes with an AC wall adapter. If accurate, based on previous threads here, this may be an older version of the headset. It seems the newer version is the one that comes with a USB charging cable instead of the AC wall adapter. There's been speculation that the newer version may include "improvements" that MS said they made in the Halo version of the headset. It's possible this IS the USB charger version, and Buy.com just hasn't updated their description. Unfortunately, I can't find a part number listed in the description, which might clarify what you're getting.

buy.com scam site..... lol.... slowest shipping in the country yes, but last time I checked they're legit. I have the wireless headset, and regret the purchase because I can't use it without complaints

You just have to get used to it. Gotta remember to charge often. Selecting which channel you are on is just 1 button press. Muting it is as easy as pushing a button on your ear.

I paid $40 on ebay for a used set, not entirely disappointed, they're pretty good.
 
I've heard alot of complaints about the wireless headset but I have never had a problem with it. I prefer it over the wired headset as it provides a much higher volume level. I bought it for 60 at best buy so this deal is pretty good. Definite purchase if you spend a good amount of time online.
 
To confirm, Buy.com is very legit. Slow shipping and some poor customer service experiences may be experienced, but they aren't scammers, for sure.

I have the chatpad and my wireless headset works fine. Mystifies me why one would have anything to do with the other: the chatpad connects to the controller, and both the controller and the headset are made to connect to the 360 wirelessly (assuming the wireless controller) and simultaneously.

Anyway, their budget shipping is very slow. I can deal with it, though, considering some of the deals you can get with them, especially GCO.
