$39.99 Valkyria Chronicles Best Buy

I don't think they're very comparable, truth be told. VC is much more of a strategy game than a strategy RPG, if you ask me. The artwork in VC is beautiful though, and the gameplay is quite solid with lots of replay value if you really get hooked (skirmish modes, various difficulty levels, etc). I think this is the type of game that belongs in a collection largely on merit, it's a fantastic endeavor by Sega (for a change) and I think you'd really enjoy it if you picked it up.

If you like RPGs, pick up Valkyria Chronicles.

Until I got my hands on it I was hurting for a good, immersive JRPG experence. I found that in VC.

It's absolutely a worthwhile purchase at full price, at $39.99 if you're an RPG fan there is NO reason not to pick it up.

Gamin, I've read from a whole whack of gamers that the demo for VC is garbage; Doesn't give the game justice, so I wouldn't base my decision off the demo alone.

the demo is terrible since it doesnt present the game very well. the skirmish has no tutorial so you have no clue as to what you should do. The system itself is unique enough that just jumping into it w/o explaination was really annoying

A bump since it looks like the price is still in effect for at least another week, and there is now...18 hours left to save 10% on the game if you order it online.

And while the demo is certainly rather bad, it does give you the general gist of how battles work. The biggest exclusions from it are the upgrade processes that you can do in between battles, and the side-missions that you can buy. Upgrading itself is a rather large process, but it isn't overly complicated. It simply amounts to buying more stuff. E.g. buying better guns, specialized guns (more damage, higher accuracy, special effects), buying upgrades for your tank (armor, ammo, etc.) plus a bit more stuff I missed.

Anyone order from BB and get their copy? I get weekly updates saying they are out of stock and are trying to fill the order.

They'd better not pull this act for months on end until the game is no longer available elsewhere and then declare "sorry, we can't fill your order--better luck next time!" :bomb:
Ordered from BB on the 27th and today I got an email letting me know that VC shipped.
I got my email today as well. Thanks for the update. :)
