I'm glad I started using my Ipod Touch for gaming, otherwise I would never know how overpriced the ds/psp games are compared to their app store counterparts. I can pick up Dark Void Zero and Surviving High School together from the app store for less than it'd cost to obtain either one from the dsiware. plus I can move those purchases to another device if I decide to upgrade to a better model.

yeah, I'm not on the DD train... I don't even want an Apple product but at least they got the transfer portion right.

I too am disappointed in DSiWare... glad I never moved away from my DSL.

There are only a handful I'm waiting for, but who know when they'll come.

Not only can you move purchases with Apple's model, you can have your apps on up to 5 devices (ipods, iPhones and iPads) and use them on all of them legally. If you get rid of one of those devices you can de-authorize it and then put the game on a new device. That's a much better way to do download games and apps. Still, there are some fun game available on DSiWare. They'd better find a way to let us transfer our games to the 3DS, though. I'm thinking, unfortunately, that they aren't going to bother, and will tell us to just keep our DSi's for the games we have on them. As such, once I'm out of my current crop of points, I'm not buying any more, regardless of what's released. I'll wait for the 3DS and hope they got it right with that platform.

The talk is verboten, but if Nintendo doesnt provide an approved license transfer method I'll be inclined to use alternate methods to preserve access to DSi/WiiWare games.
 
Interesting line-up for next month. Photo Dojo free for a limited time, Earthworm Jim port; Looksley's Line-up is probably that camera-based 3D game. Of course, there's also that shmup Metal Torrent (with leaderboards), and Q Games' X-Scape (Sequel to X, their Battlezone-esque shooter Game Boy title). The list closes out with Flame Tail, and the localization of Kappa Michi from Brownie Brown (Some Mother 3 sprite cameos).

Photo Dojo (Nintendo DSiWare, May 10): Get ready for some seriously fun Kung Fu action – starring you! Create your own characters and record the sound effects using the Nintendo DSi system’s camera and microphone. Use your imagination to set the stage for a fun-filled fight to the finish. Really thrilled Photo Dogo will be free for a limited time. I'll snag that day one.

I'm really excited about Looksley's Line-Up. It looks like a really inventive use of the DSi, and I hope the game has enough content to warrant a purchase.

Adriley, you can store DSi games on an SD card, but you can't launch games from the card. Also downloaded games are locked to the console from which they were purchased. There is currently no way to transfer DSiWare games to another system.

So it's best to wait for the 3DS if you're planning to get one of those.

I was like...... why won't my DSi get online....

Then I read at Nintendo's site that the router has to be mixed b/g, instead of G only which is what I was using for all my G devices since I no longer have anything B to slow things down.

Why? I thought it's been G since the phat version?

But DSi and XL are b/g.

I'll try that when I get home though... I used advanced network setup when I had WPA2 security, but this stupid Verizon router only lets me do WEP.
I can still use WEP in advance network setup right?

And does that mean I won't be able to play any DS games on G since you can't use the advanced setup?
But Picross 3D..... ugh.
 
I can get onto the Wii Shop channel, but I can't play Wifi games with my DSi. I am not even going to try to figure out why (Unless a must have online game comes out). Doesn't matter to me right now.
 
Ok. Seeing my little Dwight fighter yell out TAKE THAT SADDAM as he flash kicks enemies might be the best video game related thing to happen this year.

Interestingly, they include the original templates that the game uses. You can download them as a pdf. This got me thinking - I could draw in the bodies if I chose to do so.

If anyone has any ideas for that, let me know. Might be a fun way to pass the time.
 
I need to download Photo Dojo, but I've made a temporary trade deal with my kids: they get my DSi until I finish playing their copy of Spirit Tracks (on one of their DS Lites). Foolish me!

Spirit Tracks is awesome.
 
Spirit Tracks is great, but the mic use is annoying, but mainly because I play mostly on the train and bus, and they are noisy environments. It's a challenge trying to blow into the mic before the train blows into it for me. I'm managing, though I pretty much have to stop playing when I get to a flute part and do those when I'm off the train/bus. I really wish this kind of use of the mic would be put to rest. Photo Dojo (though I haven't tried it yet) gets it right - recording your own sounds for the game. That's a fun use of the mic.
