3DS vs 3DS XL - Plus lowest costs for either?

With the new Pokemon just around the corner, I'm really feelin' the itch to get me a 3DS.  Wanted to get y'all's opinion.

I'd prefer to have the 3DS XL, mainly because of the battery life advantage over the normal 3DS, but I'm not opposed to a normal 3DS if the battery life really isn't bad.  

That being said, is $199 pretty much the standard price for the XL?  Nobody else sells it for less?  I guess those deals at $169 awhile back were limited?  

Those who have used (or owned) both versions of the 3DS, what do you prefer?  And is anybody selling either below MSRP?

Not sure about your opinion on used systems but gamestop has a PUR coupon right now for 25% off any pre-owned system.

I'm assuming that this would require the premium PUR membership and not the free one? Thanks for the heads up. I'm a little iffy on used Hardware... but it might be worth checking out.
