The Trip:

So back around the Gears of War 2 release, I went to Toys 'R Us for their "Buy 3 for the Price of 2 sale" with some buddies. We split up the sale, and I got GoW2 for $40.

I played it for like a week, and haven't touched it since. Complete lack of interest.

Yesterday I called up EB, and found that they'll give me $37 of store credit for the game. Not bad on something I only spent $40 on. I wanted Banjo & Kazooie N&B, so I figured I'd go trade them off.

EB had a used copy of BaKNB, which came to 36.99 after tax and game guarantee, which left me with $0.01 of store credit. I'd been looking at Godfather 2, so I put a $5 pre-order on it (using up the last of my store credit), and which ran me up to a total of $4.99. Then the guy at EB gave me an EB promotional calendar, and a Pro Evolution Soccer scarf that he had lying around.

This is why EB will survive....
$3 off on a USED game...
$5 that goes towards interest......They make money off of your money...
$2 GPG...WHY??? Never but their GPG, you just threw away money...
EDGE? Did you but the discount card?

You spent a Game and $4.99, and think it is a deal.

I RARELY trade in games, but GoW2 was just collecting dust, and the $37 trade-in was too good for me to pass up. Especially on a game I feel that I wasted money on in the first place.

I started buying the GPG for two reasons: 1) My girlfriend once frisbeed my copy of Fight Night Round 3 and 2) My Xbox disc drive has a defect that occasionally causes it to scratch the hell out of my games.

i dont think many of you do this, but i see the price that i paid for the game, and minus it from the prince im getting. yea yea, used, value drops, etc but still. so everytime i trade in games, i think to myself, im losing money. which makes me pick games more carefully and trade in only what is nessasery.

anyway, i want a free calander too!

EDIT: just read it. yea 3 bux off.... not bad.

That's my local EB Games, but I mostly buy my stuff from Amazon.ca now.
