middle class still being ignored

good job bush voters

do you actually think putting a new president into office is actually going to change any of that until about 3-4 years from now?

ITS A TRAP bush will come out and gore will run down the street and hit him with a GORE :) then bush will tag in dick and its a Tag team battle royal

Exactly- oh well. My state went for Kerry, so when things end up getting F'd up, then remeber Bush supporters- blame yourself.

your right wrong forum forgot about the new politic forum
not sure how to move topic

anyway i luv to stir the pot
few midwest cowboy comments right on target so far.......lol

This country is screwed with anyone in office. How long till another 9/11? The Democrats should just make Nader the vice president canidate so they get his votes.

You are forgeting about the beauty of American politics, you never have to blame yourself. Its either the previous administrations fault or the other party in congress being partisan.

still one day i want to see a steel cage come down at a debate and the people would have to fight it out like on the WWE. Bush could try to do the peoples elbow

I'm very glad we won't have four more years of:

spineless mind changing
no authority
killing babies
gay marraige
unnecessary expensive welfare programs

just to name a few.

Kerry Concedes, announcement at 1 pm.
but what about John Edwards saying "John Kerry and I made a promise to the US people that in this election every vote would count and every vote would be counted. Tonight we are keeping our word and we will fight for every vote." ?
I'm very glad we won't have four more years of:

spineless mindchanging isn't an issue
Kerry would give the smart authority by getting some other countries to help pay
babies are still gonna be killed
who cares if the gays are married or not what if u were born gay
welfare may decrease with more jobs but i agree with this one but dont think kerry would really blow this one up

i dont know about u but i can't wait for 4 more yrs of
slow economy - wrong, economy is growing
more deficit from war - hey, protecting the country isn't cheap
zero or negative job growth - wrong, jobs are increasing
more dying from war - it's called war for a reason
no advancement in stem cell research - we are already advancing
gay people not being able to marry - they shouldn't be able to, marriage is between a man and a woman
anti abortion more on the rise - yes, the murder of innocent babies should stop
shitty healthcare - my healthcare is fine. I don't want to pay more taxes to provide it for anyone else
expensive drugs - someone has to pay for research and development
no other countries joining us in terror stance so we can incure more of the cost - plenty of countries have joined us. the ones that were in Saddam's pocket didn't. Who needs them?
taxes favoring the wealthy - sorry, taxes favor the poor. People who don't pay taxes already get refunds. Explain that one!
middle class still being ignored - I got a tax cut, and I'm middle class. Go figure.
good job bush voters- Yes, good job!

Gtguru, I was wondering if you are religous? If you are is that why you dont approve of abortion and gay marraige?

You have to understand. Some people only get their news from the major networks or CNN. If that's all I heard, I would also think that the economy sucks, Bush is horrible, etc. However, it isn't the truth. Thank God for alternate sources of media.

Two simple examples. Unemployment is about the same as it was when Clinton was re-elected. GDP, the broadest measure of economic growth, was 3.7% last quarter. The quarter before Clinton was re-elected was 3.4%. If a Democrat was in office this economy would be portrayed in a completely different way.

Yes, we did lose jobs under Bush; however, the man to blame is Bin Laden not Bush.

Also, the bursting of the tech bubble in the stock market didn't help things. The market began its worst correction since the great depression 9 months before Bush took office. Of course, this was probably somehow his fault too.

i never knew that we had so many midwest cagers

any real northeast cagers here gonna back up kerry
u know the area of the us that really matter
people that care about what matters and not values and morals
The only thing that matters right now is what happens in Ohio.
It doesn't matter, Kerry conceded, he called Bush to congratulate him and will hold a press conference at 1. I for one am very proud Bush was able to hold Ohio... I spent over 200 hours volunteering for him around here, its great to see it was worthwhile.

WTF are you talking about?

Values and morals don't matter? ...

"The area of the U.S. that really matters" - hmm... I think you've just shown your true colors buddy. Get out more.

Well if that isn't an asinine, idiotic, head-in-the-ass comment... I don't know what is. Do me a favor, next time you have a comment to make.. step back, think about what you're going to say, if its something like a comment you'd normally make.. just shut up.

This country is screwed anyway... we're pretty much the empire from Star Wars in the eyes of other countries, even ally nations.

Arguing over candidates won't do anything... I don't know how, but the government needs to be reformed, voting for a candidate who claims to be different but is practically the same, will do nothing.

I'm not a brilliant political analyst, and I'm not even claiming to be right... I'm not totally informed either, I just felt the need to comment, since everyone is taking sides and bickering.

Sorry about that : )

slow economy The economy is booming, their is hiccups in the economy every 4 to 10 years

more deficit from war we have been in deficit spending since b4 I was born

zero or negative job growth we have same unemployment now then when clinton was re elected

more dying from war we have to stop terrorist

no advancement in stem cell research this is the biggest piece of shit I have heard from the dems...he allows embreyonic stem cell, but the gov't won't pay to clone and harvest them...private industry can do it if they want to, but they don't as it isn't probable that they will get anything from them...the area where the private industry is interested is adult stem cells, and their is no regulations that i know of on them...bush just said we will not have the gov't pay for research where you take embryonic cells and destroy them..he isn't holding private industry back, it isn't the gov't job to fund scientific research...that is what private industry is for...and i am speaking as a type 1 diabetic, and I don't want the gov't to take my tax money to fund it

gay people not being able to marry
anti abortion more on the rise Umm, the only thing he did was lobby to stop partial birth abortions, and it cleared the house and senate pretty easily...wasn't being protested by many, deal with it

shitty healthcare and it is the gov't job to provide this why, the gov't job is to protect and serve, not make anyones life easy

expensive drugs it costs lots of money to develop new mediciene...when was the last major drug developed by canada or europe..if you don't want them to research new medicienes, fine, but I will pay the premium so that some day we can have better drugs...and maybe thing cost so much, due rising costs associated with inusrance, and running a business

no other countries joining us in terror stance so we can incure more of the cost Afghanistan has troops from serveral nations working their...

taxes favoring the wealthy
middle class still being ignored and when have they been paid attention to,

lol like i said i like 2 stir the pot
and yes jobs and economy matters more than values and morals
those things are just a cop out
do they even exist?
i hate hillbilly hicks that have no tolerance for gays or womens rights
why dont you get out more and come to NY or San Fran

Well....Kerry has phoned Bush and conceded victory to him. I suppose either candidate could've only clinched a grim victory...knowing that about half the US population doesn't want you representing them. How has this country become so polarized? Bipartisanship in Congress is one thing..but to split the general population right down the center. Wow.

i dont know about u but i can't wait for 4 more yrs of
slow economy - wrong, economy is growing - growing far too slowly to counteract the debt. the $ is really weak and we can expect and new recession far worse than the last
more deficit from war - hey, protecting the country isn't cheap - It's not. But going to war because bush/cheney dont like someone and has nothing to do with terrorism wasnt such a great idea
zero or negative job growth - wrong, jobs are increasing - but have decreased significantly in the last 4 years. new jobs are far lower paying.
more dying from war - it's called war for a reason - indeed but you cant be very happy when people you know are dying senselessly
no advancement in stem cell research - we are already advancing - uh no we're not
gay people not being able to marry - they shouldn't be able to, marriage is between a man and a woman - unless you are gay why would you care? its just not an important issue to me
anti abortion more on the rise - yes, the murder of innocent babies should stop - i love how republicans wont help babies and mothers once the babies are born but are high and mighty beforehand
shitty healthcare - my healthcare is fine. I don't want to pay more taxes to provide it for anyone else - typical selfish republican, why are we the only industrial nation that doesnt provide healthcare for its people? and anyway if it was provided it would be cheaper. you are paying for it out of your paycheck whether you realize it or not. the reason the premiums are so high is because people without healthcare dont pay their hospital bills and the cost is passed on to you
expensive drugs - someone has to pay for research and development - agreed
no other countries joining us in terror stance so we can incure more of the cost - plenty of countries have joined us. the ones that were in Saddam's pocket didn't. Who needs them? - uh what countries, england and...??? i know a few others have given token things to us but even the british people dont support us. did you know the majority of the "coalition" doesnt even have an army?
taxes favoring the wealthy - sorry, taxes favor the poor. People who don't pay taxes already get refunds. Explain that one! - agreed
middle class still being ignored - I got a tax cut, and I'm middle class. Go figure. - agreed but cutting taxes during a war and growing deficits is not smart. cutting capital gains tax would be since it would raise more tax $ but not income tax
good job bush voters- Yes, good job! - yes i hope you rednecks are happy as the country continues to go down the drain

No matter who's in office it is the middle class that gets the butt end of things. why? because you have to give tax breaks to the rich to inflate the economy. you have to cut school funding of extracurricular activities in middle class neighborhoods because you're giving their parents child credits.
"Who ever wins we lose." - Aliens Vs. Predator

I live in MA, the economy is very similiar to the way it was in 1996, unemployment is the same as it was then...I live 20 min from providence, and 45 min from Boston, I am not a hillbilly or a hick, and I don't support gay marriage, the problem with the democrats is they generalize, and think they are better then people

"It's over... shaq-fu it, let it go. Life will go on "

I hope your right. I must say I'm pretty nervous right now. living in a theocracy doesnt seem like fun

The responses here are just a further reflection of how divided we are here in America.

What's done is done, and now we can just hope Bush will follow through on many of his promises.

Some mistakes were made in his first term; some out of his control. He should be the one responsible for correcting those mistakes though.

I'm not a Bush fan and not necessarily a Kerry supporter, but I do think we need to start coming together for the great good, and start respecting each others opinions more. If we can't find some middle ground here our nation will just continue to become divided even further, and as history has shown us, that can only lead to further problems.

Alien vs. Predator is like the election between Bush and Kerry. Whoever wins, we all lose.... this sums It all up !!!!!

Well, I voted for Kerry, so I'm a bit dissappointed, but I wasn't really thrilled with either candidate, so oh well... I guess it's four more years of monkey jokes and hilariously bad speeches.

I never said life would be gravy for the next 4 years, but life will go on. I wanted Kerry in office bad, but theres nothing we can do about it now

Actually, independent statistics show that the economy is weakening, in spite of promises from the liars in the white house. Further, the real issue is whether people are being fed and have medical treatment, and they never will under Bush.

Agreed, protecting the country isn't cheap. In fact, we would do well to take some of the billions of dollars being used to invade Iraq, and use it for real defense. There is no reason that invading Iraq makes us more secure, but several reasons why it makes us weaker.

You're wrong, jobs are not increasing. "Unemployment" is going down, but this is misleading, because the unemployment statistic does not include people who have used up their Unemployment benefits. The true number of people out of work is going up.

Yes, it's called war for a reason.. The war is unnecessary and is simply a means for Bush and his energy buddies to gain control of oil reserves in Iraq. There is no reason poor American kids should have to go overseas to make Bush and his friends richer. This is to say nothing of over 10,000 reported civilian casualties and hundreds of confirmed human rights violations in Iraq.

You say we are advancing in stem cell research, but I think you're missing the point, which is that Bush would like to bring stem cell research to a halt.

I agree with you about abortion, but I hardly think that it is the biggest issue on the table, unless you've been brainwashed by the lies coming out of the White House.

You selfish son of a bitch, just because you can afford decent healthcare, you don't think there's a problem. Thousands die every day in this country because they can't get the healthcare they need. Healthcare costs in this country are several times greater than the world average, for the exact same treatments, because the healthcare industry is controlled by the HMOs. The only people who would be taxed for national health care are the rich, who already pay fewer taxes than everyone else. If you're rich enough to fall into that bracket, then you really shouldn't be complaining, you ignorant f*ck.

You say the drugs are expensive because of R&D costs, but the same drugs cost far less in ANY other country in the world. We have a system in this country that discourages competition, keeping prices high. We allow one or two companies to have a monopoly on a given drug, and we pay through the nose for it. We recently had a flu vaccine shortage because the one supplier we had wasn't able to come through.

No, not a lot of countries supported us in the war. A handful of weaker countries sent a couple dozen soldiers each so that the Bush administration could make their list longer. The single exception is Great Britain. The countries that refused to join us were not in Saddam's pocket. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I don't believe Saddam had strong relationships with any non-Arabic nations, and there were a whole ton of them who opposed our invasion of Iraq.

Taxes don't favor the poor. If you think that, you don't know shit. Rich people get huge tax breaks. In addition, when it's time to raise money, instead of taxing rich and poor equally, they tax goods like cigarettes and candy, which hurts poor people far more than rich people, since it represents a larger portion of their income.

Surprisingly many people oversea really hate Bush.. but want him to win(except the arab i guess).. guess what? they want to see America spend all those times and resources on the middle east and not pushing their economy forward. It's been widely analyzed among foreign press. Majority of them hate Bush, but hey.. it's good for the rest of the world, so China can mind their own biz, Europe can get closer now... well the middle east still gonna get bomb.. hey. but who care. haha..
4 more years! yeah
