$5 Off Games at Hollywood Video - Some New Titles as low as $5

I *think* this is nationwide, but there's a sale going on at HWV where new games are $5 off. I was just there and there were a number of $5 games ($10, with a $5 discount) in a little stand.

Lego Batman
Lego Indiana Jones
Infinite Undiscovery
PS3:
Lair
Wii:
Samba de Amigo, and I think a couple other ones.

I agree sooners, I wonder how many people calling a single store it would take before we convinced them they had a corporate deal going that wasn't real!
 
so does anyone really know what games this applies to? Or even games that are say $15 or less. I hit one HWV today and they have maybe 8 ps3 games. i did nab the lego batman marked at $18.99, rang up at $10 and got the $5 discount. chick said it was all games $19.99 or less but she seems to pull that from the top of her head and I wasnt that convinced of the answer

Wish peeps here would post what system their finds are from.

Went by 2 local HWV and was told that it only applied to the 4 on the sign as well....dammit. Will try again tomorrow (and hope for diff employee).

which two in the tampa area? cause i think citrus park is the only one left right now...hillsborough was supposed to be closed by the 20th and my store is closed on 56th.

Might be too late, I already snagged up the Lego Batmans and Infinite Undiscovery's.

The only weird thing was that they told me at Citrus Park that you cant use a coupon and store credit in the same transaction.

Hillsborough's last day was yesterday. They got rid of their books with all the barcodes, so they weren't able to do the promotion anyways.

Similar thing happened to me, except that there was a huge sign posted that said ALL NEW GAMES $19.99 OR LESS at the store front and when I walked into the games section, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Batman: AA and Ghostbusters brand new and sealed inside the display cabinet.

I quickly asked the store associate whether all new games really are $19.99 or less. She said yes, so I asked her to ring up both games but they came up full price ($60 each)... she knew she got caught since she just admitted all new games are $19.99 or below. Anyway, she refused to sell it to me at $19.99 (she claimed those were just traded in by someone and price was incorrect, but I've been in that HWV a couple of times and the two games have been there at least a few weeks back) but said she would give me $5 off instead.

I couldn't get her to change her mind :bomb:

Well, in the case of my HWV, I had to ask about the sale, they didn't even have signage up for it, except for the $5 off game rentals. Must be my dumb luck that I get the actual smart employees :p

If she would have done that for you, you would have been incredibly lucky, and she'd be in some trouble. Most HWVs with Gamezones are turning into Discount Gamezones, as stated before. They're supposed to get rid of all the stock valued over 19.99, not sell everything at that price.

After giving the manager at my store the ad, he called up to get the 'BIG SALE' coupons from his boss. Took what little $10 games they had available, so now I think I have to move on to higher valued ones.

What other games would be worth it to buy from here? I feel like getting Star Ocean for the PSP, but that still leaves me with credit. It's too bad Gamecrazy's too far out, otherwise i'd just waste it all there.
