Been eyeing this game for awhile & since there's a b2g1 or PUR might be time to jump on it & send it to the backlog. If this was an @gamer mag deal then all versions would be $5 but I doubt B&M BB's even got this in stock at all.

$5 PC(OOS online)(has a 9.0 rating even though the consoles version have half?)
GS removed the online link completely so there's gonna be no restock.
It's a decent game. I think that it is worth that price.
This is what I wanted to know. Anyone else have an opinion on this game?

Debating if I should bother with this one. I'll check some reviews later.

I quite liked it. It's rather unique with the Italian backdrop, female protagonist and the somewhat whimsical (but not overly so) almost Disney-esque style.

A lot of other RPGs are super dark these days so this was a nice change of pace. The story was interesting. There's lots of sidequests and choice to make. For $5-$10 I think it's a steal.

In my opinion this game is quite underrated publisher completely mishandled this game at least in terms of international release. It wasn't promoted at all and they never even put the PC version on Steam.

Thanks OP.
this was 10 bucks on newegg -360- for the longest time and no one cared lol. go figure
I believe this was even cheaper at GS before because I remember flipping a copy from GS to BBY.

This.
I'm pretty sure it was $7 used.

I've watched some videos and i'm a little intrigued but I'm having trouble justifying buying this. Every video i've seen so far seems to say that this game is a bad game.

It doesnt look too bad. It seems like a budget version of Amalur. For those that own it, does it play the same?

Combat is nowhere near as tight as Amalur, but the simple rhythm based chaining attacks with a handful of different weapons are still fun. Magic is also interesting with no fire and ice stuff, more like necromancy type spells.

And the story in Venetica is infinitely more entertaining than the one in Amalur. Everyone is voiced (surprising), main character is endearing, there are hidden areas, side quests, explorable areas, faction/rep system, basically all the RPG goodness wrapped in a pretty coating for $5 DRM-free on PC.

I'm finding it refreshing after Amalur. Happily surprised.

I would agree with this. On the surface it might look visually in the same vein as Amalur but this game is more focused and story oriented while Amalur is more geared toward (semi) open world wandering. To me Amalur feels more generic, but I guess that comes with the territory in making a game more open.

Anyway I personally preferred this game but I can see how if someone were less concerned about story and characterization and more concerned with combat that they might prefer Amalur.

You're basically getting this game right now at an indie game price with a lot better production values.

There was a thread about it a while back over at the RPGwatch where a girl did some let's play videos of it and people commented on it and generally seemed to like it:

A bit over 4 hours in so far...and it's pretty good. :D
Seriously, for $5, PC gamers, go find yourself a copy of this...
