$50 Amazon Credit W/ Vita Purchase

I think the best deal yet was the 3G FEB bundle for $299.99 at BB with free game of your choice and 3 months of PSN+

I picked up Uncharted ($49.99) and the 3 month PSN+ Card ($17.99) and the FEB Bundle came with an 8GB memory card and other stuff I think had expired.

I know the 3G is boderline worthless but I have the money to spend so an extra $50 isn't going to kill me and the extras in the 3G FEB bundle cancelled out the cost.

If you have any interest in the Vita I would get it now and just enjoy it over the next few months as I don't see much more in the way of incentives to pick one up

Personally, I still can't justify the purchase if one. No games I'm excited for except Persona 4 Gold. Looking at the Vita release list on gamefaqs it looks pretty bare.

im waiting for a bigger memory card. Im going to need something bigger than 32gb. once sony releases a 64gb or bigger ill pick up a vita
waiting for the white vita. sony was dumb for announcing that 5 months before release...
If you've ever had white controllers or hand-held systems in the past you would know that isn't a good color. Sweaty dirt and the white rubber tops of the sticks will turn yellow. I wouldn't even consider anything like this in white.

The Vita is a cool system, but it is a little lacking in games right now. I got one a few weeks back when Best Buy gave away a free game and 3 month PSN+ card w/system purchase. You can now get Hot Shots and Wipeout 2048 for less than $20 each and they are fun games.
Pick up a Vita people! Jet Set Radio is coming this summer!
That and persona 4 as well. I can't wait to buy more PS2 remakes.
Pick up a Vita people! Jet Set Radio is coming this summer!
Seriously. Dreamcast is still my favorite console just because of this game.

You can still get JSR on a console/Steam, so it alone doesn't sell me a Vita. Persona 4 Golden isn't until October, so better promotions could happen the closer one gets to the holiday shopping season. I'm probably alone on here for being tempted by New Little King Story, but I think it won't be out until August.

So I'll risk it and hold off purchase, mainly because I'm also factoring in the cost of either the 16GB or 32GB memory card.

Im just waiting for some decent games to come out for it before i pull the trigger!
vita

Just bought a Wifi Vita, Gravity Rush, 16GB card, and a travel case. Spent a lot, but can't wait til I get to play Gravity Rush and that $50 GC. Also the PSP library for the Vita is apparantly growing quickly so that will help with any dry spells that might be there.

I got an imported white DS3 from Japan before they came to the US and boy I'll never do that again. It's okay as long as you dust it sometimes, but it does get sort of ugly. I can't imagine a white portable game system.

I was debating picking up a 3DS or PSV but eventually decided on a Vita. I think the system will get games more suitable to my tastes eventually. I remember being burned by Nintendo portables before, where there's not much else good to play except for Zelda games and occasionally a good third party game like Okamiden or 999.

Tempting, but I just gave amazon $550 for a laptop so I'm gonna have to pass for now.

I'm gonna hold off for the inevitable holiday bundle with Uncharted and a memory card.

Actually they already announced the holiday bundle, going to be White ACIII or Madden bundle with memory card

Waiting for $199 and wayyyyyyyyy cheaper memory cards.

Just a rant, I'd wish that OP people would not post + tax free or + no tax. Not everbody is tax exempt at Amazon. Let people discover that in their own value.

I think I'll buy a Vita when it can replace my PSP... and since I use my PSP to play NES, SNES and GBC games it might be a while. Has anyone gotten CFW working on that thing yet?

Just because they announced game bundles doesn't mean that there won't be a holiday bundle specifically for Black Friday with older games.

Last year Sony came out with an Uncharted 3 bundle and MS with a MW3 bundle but they still had specific holiday bundles for Black Friday. Sony had one with Ratchet and Clank and LBP2 and MS had one with Halo Reach and Fable III.

They did a while ago, but it depends on PSP game exploits that are getting patched. Sony did release the newly renamed Playstation Mobile SDK, and I know at least a NES emulator was ported over to it.

Playstation Mobile is currently in beta and free, though there is supposed to be a fee once it is officially released. It also is going to be an App Store so we'll have to see how Sony polices it, I doubt emulators will be available on it. So if you wanted to run them you'd have to get a DEV license and install them as "test" software.

I'm still wary about buying.

I expected Sony to announce a price cut at E3.

Not only did they not announce a price cut, they basically announced nothing.
If Sony doesn't care about the Vita, why should I?

Yep, completely agreed.

Littlebigplanet Vita is the only game you'll ever need.

"LittleBigPlanet 2 tweaked Create and made a way for players to create their own games with cutscenes, scoring and more. Now, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is adding in the "Memorizer" to the Create suite, and that's going to allow you to create 40-hour RPGs, the next Angry Birds and oh so much more. The Memorizer allows user-created games to save, which in essence allows them to be real standalone titles. This means you can download a LittleBigPlanet PS Vita "level' that's really a game and unlock stages, level-up characters, or whatever the creator has imagined. You can play for hours, stop and come back."

Read the quote and if you still don't get the point I was trying to make, try the article.

Yeah after buying a PS Vita from Lockerz I also get the impression Sony doesn't give a shit about the Vita either. Oh well I'll just wait for Madden 13 in a few months.

I'm absolutely in love with my vita. I don't need a hundred games at once since I generally only play one at a time. I've played through Lumines, Plants Vs Zombies, Stardrone (though I never could beat the last level), and am about 100 hours into Disgaea. I still need to play through Escape plan, Gravity Rush, and Uncharted. Which should hold me over until Persona. There arent a ton of games, but what is available so far has more than satisfied me.

I'm just gonna wait for the inevitbale hardware revisions where the price will be cut, and I'll get the version of the system I want that can actually component out to a external source. Why they got a port for that now, and not using it is just odd, but until they find a way to make proper use of it I aint touching it. Not to mention what everyone else mentioned. Lack of any big developments for it at E3, and the games are only trickling in.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info, though.

Really only want a Vita for Persona 4, and the only reason I want a 3DS is for the new SMT.

baah baah

Very, very sad. Not happy about this...

Call me crazy, but don't most of the people on here save so much on gaming each year to easily offset the cost of memory ? I'm perplexed by the concept of how people actually justify these ridiculous collectors editions of games. Yet they all consist of useless pieces of paper & plastic. Yes they're strictly fanfare, but at least for the extra $100 on a 32gb, your getting something of actual use. I don't aim to upset anyone but a replica loot box really isn't going to be that much more useful. I used to eat up all these CE's also, now I get to see my reflection everyday in that stupid Spartan helmet while I toss my change into that GTA safe deposit box. In summary, stop being cheap people, most on here spend more on less. End Rant...

I'm a little interested in the Vita, but I got burned so bad with the psp I'm very wary to look at getting one. Plus, it's a no-go until either Sony gets their memory card prices to a reasonable amount, or Sandisk starts making third-party memory cards for it.

I think maybe a price drop could convince me, along with the aforementioned. The fact that Sony didn't give the Vita any attention (that it desperately needed) at E3 worries me a bit. Are they gonna support this thing properly this time?

Could end up being another GO but I doubt it. The Assassins Creed spinoff might hopefully become the start of a trend. But I think its ultimate demise will come from the consumers end first, why make games for something nobodys buying ? Sad too because unlike the GO's digital tyranny this has physical media.

Don't forget the BioShock experience coming to the Vita. Kevin Levine's making sure it's a true BioShock experience too. So the $50 is only if it's shipped by Amazon? I canceled my WiFi only order twice because I read the fine print after.

Similar situation for me. I'm interested in Gravity Rush and Lumines beyond P4 The Golden (obvious choice). With the way E3 went, I doubt there'll be a price drop during the holidays considering games weren't really stressed.

I feel like there will be a price drop at some point (or some sweet bundle Black Friday), but $50 credit isn't that bad. I could just get a Vita (I just traded in like $240 worth of old textbooks and a few games I never play) and use the credit for a 16gb mem card and some money towards a game. Hopefully I'll get the credit before the deal goes away...

I hear the same shit in every vita thread.. "no games" "waiting for a price drop" "memory is too expensive"

1) there are plenty of games and more are in development. The system has been out for a little more then 100 days and its library dwarfs that of the 3DS in its first 100 days. Just because they don't have some silly JRPG with cute cartoon characters doesn't mean it has no games.

2) Anyone who knows anything about Sony could have told you there wasn't going to be a price drop at E3. Why they hell are you acting so surprised? Holy shit. And when there is a price drop how much you think they are going to drop it? Yep... most likely by $50. So if you are going to ineviteably buy it at the first price drop just get it now because all things considered it is almost an identical value----and you get to play it and enjoy it NOW instead of 5 months from now

3) Yes the memory is too expensive but what do you seriously need 32GB of memory for? Games come in physical format and most are cheaper that way via sales then they are through the PSN store even factoring in the 10% discount for buying digital---plus you can trade your physical games when you get bored of them. If you want a media player buy an iPod. I have an 8GB card from the FEB bundle and I"ve never had more then 4GB of space tied up. Play a demo.. delete it. Simple concept. If you miss it so much later just redownload it. I mean if you have the money to pay more to get everything digital then you shouldn't be bitching about the cost of memory.

Why the heck did you quote me and then write that? I just said $50 credit wasn't that bad and that I will probably buy a Vita if my trade-in credit comes in before this deal goes away. I didn't even talk about a supposed lack of games and I didn't say the memory card was too expensive. The only thing I said that is mildly relevant to your tirade was that I "feel" like a price drop will happen...

If you're going to whine about people not amped for a system you like, at least quote someone who didn't just say they were going to buy one...
