$50 Amazon Credit W/ Vita Purchase
Why the heck did you quote me and then write that? I just said $50 credit wasn't that bad and that I will probably buy a Vita if my trade-in credit comes in before this deal goes away. I didn't even talk about a supposed lack of games and I didn't say the memory card was too expensive. The only thing I said that is mildly relevant to your tirade was that I "feel" like a price drop will happen...

If you're going to whine about people not amped for a system you like, at least quote someone who didn't just say they were going to buy one...
I think it's because you said "I feel like there will be a price drop." But you have to remember this is CAG. Which means for every deal there will be always be 1 out of 3 posts saying "I'll wait till it hits XX dollars or I'll wait till it gets a price drop or a bundle, etc. People for some reason need justification on their decision to either purchase or not purchase the item.
Yes i for one bought a vita hoping for rpg's im not getting any games for my vita until persona 4 golden comes out. So...while i play the same crappy shooters everyday im waitin for more rpg
I know the feeling. Persona 4 Golden doesn't even come out till October :(. At least Jet Set Radio is coming sometime this summer! Also can't wait to pick up Gravity Rush.

My bad. My post wasn't really directed towards you; I think I read your post last and just hit reply rather then multiquote those I had intended to address
I hear the same shit in every vita thread.. "no games" "waiting for a price drop" "memory is too expensive"

1) there are plenty of games and more are in development. The system has been out for a little more then 100 days and its library dwarfs that of the 3DS in its first 100 days. Just because they don't have some silly JRPG with cute cartoon characters doesn't mean it has no games.

2) Anyone who knows anything about Sony could have told you there wasn't going to be a price drop at E3. Why they hell are you acting so surprised? Holy shit. And when there is a price drop how much you think they are going to drop it? Yep... most likely by $50. So if you are going to ineviteably buy it at the first price drop just get it now because all things considered it is almost an identical value----and you get to play it and enjoy it NOW instead of 5 months from now

3) Yes the memory is too expensive but what do you seriously need 32GB of memory for? Games come in physical format and most are cheaper that way via sales then they are through the PSN store even factoring in the 10% discount for buying digital---plus you can trade your physical games when you get bored of them. If you want a media player buy an iPod. I have an 8GB card from the FEB bundle and I"ve never had more then 4GB of space tied up. Play a demo.. delete it. Simple concept. If you miss it so much later just redownload it. I mean if you have the money to pay more to get everything digital then you shouldn't be bitching about the cost of memory.
I'm waiting for a price drop, more games, and cheaper memory.

I bought a Vita about a month ago....kind of a spur of the moment decision with Best Buy offering a free game and 3 month PSN+ card. Bought a few games and while it's cool, it really isn't worth the money you have to invest. Sold my system tonight and took the games I had to Best Buy to trade in. I was lucky to get more on trade in for the games than I paid, which is one reason I decided to dump it all now. Vita just doesn't offer anything unique that I can't get on PS3 or 360 and without having to shell out $250 bucks for hardware. Overall I think it's a cool system, but not worth the money. I'm just thankful I got out from under the Vita and games without any loss.

Bought the FEB. Your post pretty closely resembles my opinion. I picked up several games for $20 recently including Fifa and Wipeout. The thing is that unless I have the digital versions of the game, using the system loses its luster. If I'm playing it in bed, I don't want to have to switch cartridges to play a new game. I want to seamlessly switch from one game to the next. And considering I have to pay $35 (digital cost) for the same game I purchased for $20, I just end up getting annoyed with the situation more often than I get entertainment out of the system.

it's very possible there could be a price drop this year due to the fact none of the AC Vita and AC PS3 bundles were priced. The typical would cost more than base bundle.

Doubt it, I believe this is what they did with psp. You get $20 card and a game but it's $249. So kind of a subversive price drop. Sony doesn't easily admit defeat. Think PS3 when it released, Beta Max!

Well I had to jump on this deal. I want to play AC III:Liberation and will use the credit for that and a 4GB card. Essentially making my own bundle without having to wait until October. I'll rent Uncharted from Gamefly and a few others.

I'm so on the fence about this one. I keep placing my order and then canceling it right away. Except, today Amazon already put my status into shipping soon, can't cancel. I went with the 3G version. I'm in CA and we're going to get taxed by Amazon coming this Sept., so I jumped on this deal. The 3G does come with a $20 value 8GB memory card. So if I look at the overall value; I get 8GB ($20 value), $50 GC, saved on taxes (another $20), and it's $10 under MSRP. I saved $100 more or less. Right? RIGHT?!!? I need support...I'm so insecure.

The Vita is a great gaming device. I bought a Wifi Model about a month after launch, a 32gb memory stick, and Lumines. While I could've waited and saved maybe $30 by finding deals on the memory card and Lumines, I'd say my enjoyment at the time was far worth the early investment. You know what I also realized after making that purchase? Money will come back anyway if you actually do a little work :)

Also, there are PLENTY of games coming out in the foreseeable future. REJOICE!

Dammit. It figures that I just bought my Wifi Vita last weekend at Fry's. =P

Anyway, I'd consider this a really good deal on the Vita. At an effective $200 price, it's a pretty solid handheld gaming system. The screen really is as gorgeous as everyone makes it out to be.

My only complaints thus far about the system are battery life (pretty abysmal, even worse than the 3ds but it's to be halfway expected with the hardware level) and the memory stick cost. The game library is currently rather small, but fairly good as far as the ports go. I'm willing to bet that given time, it'll shape up much like the original PSP before it.

Well I bit! After my trade-in credit came in I got a wifi vita and season 1 of Breaking Bad for just over $20. Anyone know when the credit will come through? I'm using it for a memory card and game so I'd like everything to get there the same day...

edit: read the fineprint, I won't get it until after it ships. Lame...

No there aren't.

Japan is the only one getting "plenty" of games. Vita is getting mostly ports (MGS HD collection) or remakes. There really aren't enough reasons to get a Vita at the moment, and when there are enough the price is likely to be lower due to low Vita sales.

I mean after LEGO Batman next week, there are NO GAMES for Vita for 2 months. If you're in Europe you have it even worse. From the end of June until October you get NO GAMES.

Honestly unless what the Vita currently has out is enough for you, I'd wait for a price drop. It's sure to happen.

I keep debating this too because of the CA tax in September from Amazon... :whistle2:/

Thanks! I feel much better about the purchase. Gravity Rush demo was awesome. It's also a good tablet device, right? I'm behind on a lot of research and I hate to sit at a desk. I hope I can do it all on my bed with this device.

Amen to this... my Vita has basically been a $300 Lumines machine and I wouldn't have it any other way. If you're into the series, Lumines is every bit a system seller as games such as Mario and Halo... though I admit to a much narrower fan base.
