Spooky, or maybe we just both jumped to a rather obvious conclusion :)

At this point all you're really doing is committing $50 to Amazon, personally if I wanted one I'd wait for the price drop then buy at NewEgg as they don't charge me tax (yet).
 
I already have a Vita but I'm happy to see some high-profile promotions on the system. Hopefully this helps increase the install base a bit.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new model AND a price drop at the same time, so I'm going to hold off for a bit. In the meanwhile, I'll just keep accumulating games with PS+, so when I do finally bite, I'll be more than ready.

Still! This is a good deal, thanks OP. I think the 3G model is an even better deal; it's $300 with the $50 credit AND a free year of PS+, which is worth $50 anyway, plus a 4GB mem card and a copy of Unit 13.
