50% off DC games at Gamestop

Went into the Gamestop in North Austin today and they had their entire stock of DC games for 50% off. Not a bad deal if you are still looking for DC games. I'm not sure if this is local or nationwide.

I wish the Gamestop near me still carried DC games, I just bought a DC recently. But I'm stuck with going to EB for DC games.

This is very YMMV, I don't know of any Gamestops around here who still have DC games. It's probably a sign that your GS is going to quit carrying DC games, my GS had a similar sale when they stopped selling DC stuff.

One GameStop (known as Software Inc) has a ton of DC games (most are just Rainbow Six and sports) and has been 50% off for a really long time.

My local Gamestop that's still carrying DC games has had the 50% off promotion going on for about 6 months now. Haven't checked back if they've gotten rid of them yet, but it's one of the few Gamestops I know of that still had Dreamcast games, and they definatly aren't going to be getting anymore in.

BTW Zman310, I like your sig picture. I use that same panel as a CS spray :p

The GS' here carry like 5 DC games, all of which have no box or manual, and are pretty crappy games, or old sports ones.
My Gamestop no longer carries Dreamcast, NES, SNES or GENESIS games or systems.
Same here, they quit carrying these a year ago.

Usually, if someone here is wondering where to get DC games, definitely go to EBGames.com, lots of cheap, great titles, especially with the coupon codes: CAG15/PPLAY15, SAVER, and your Edge card.

But, back to subject... yeah, I notice that most game stores B&M now no longer carry DC or older system stuff, even Gamerush is clearing out their inventory with the "all classic games are .99 cents" promotion.

My local Gamestop (Greenbelt, MD) actually got in a bunch of old DC titles within the past couple of months, but they're mostly disc-only (and most of the discs are badly scratched). As a result, 50% off their somewhat high asking prices aren't much of a deal.

They had a pretty decent selection IMO considering the state the DC is in. I was able to pick up Sonic Adventure 2, RE: CV, Crazi Taxi 2, Grandia II, Soul Calibur, and Justice League. I went back up there today and they added the 50% off to Genesis, SNES, and NES games as well. They are just trying to get rid of the old games. The PSX games were not 50% of however.

Make sure you pick Power Stone 2, Worms world party, Skies of arcadia, and San Francisco Rush 2049. All great games.
i remember asking about DC games at a gamestop and the clerk kinda got pissed
I don't even dare mention Dreamcast anything at my local Gamestops, the employees totally talk down the system like as if its the worst thing ever in exsistance.

Don't suppose they had another copy of Justice League? ;)

alot of areas have shipped out all their DC and older systems to one store for that area. i belive. when i went in one day they told me they sent all those games out to a store about 20 miles away.

This is still going on at Gamestops that still sell classic games. It's 50% off all DC, NES, SNES, and Genesis games. Combine that with a GS card and it's 60% off. I scored two factory sealed DC games labeled as used - Illbleed and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. After all discounts, Illbleed was $2.70 and Rainbow Six was $3.60. Those were the last copies of those titles at that particular Gamestop.

All Gamestops (the ones that have it) have had their DC, SNES, and Genesis stuff at 50% off for months and months now. It's not YMMV either, the computer takes off half price. Good luck finding one with decent stuff left.

Kinda old news. Any GS that has games for those systems should have them 50% off anyway. I know mine had them for 50% off for at least 6 months before they sent all the games to another district to be sold.

One of my local Gamestop's had this promotion going on for the last year, and the last great games I scored were a $.25 NFL 2K, Secret of Evermore for $6, and Street Racer for $5, and this was months ago. Now that Gamestop shipped all of there SNES/Genesis/Dreamcast games to some store in Ohio, and this one is in Utica, Michigan...

We have had the 50% off sale going on for awhile here, but one correction to what you were saying, the computer does not take half off the price, they had to do that manually, or at least at mine they do because i bought Grandia II and it rang up full price.

That clerk has problems then. This is why I hate going into gamestop or eb..they are sooooo one sided with game systems or just bicker when you ask for some obsolet system stuff. If they can't understand that they are a used game store then they need to find another job. Customer service in both EB and GS really needs improvement vs trying to force pre-orders for next madden game for the xbox when 1, I don't care for EA Sports and 2, i don't have an xbox (never tell them you dont have a system or else you waste the next 10 mins of your life hearing how great there system is blah blah.

LOL we must go to the same ones.

Interesting, I didn't notice my clerk (and I've done this at a few different stores) doing anything special. I know they are all supposed to be 50% off regardless of location, I would be sure to remind the clerk then.

The last time I found something good was almost six months ago, I found a Gamestop that had FOUR Super Mario RPGs for SNES marked for $9.99 each. When I found out they were really only $4.99, I almost fainted. ;)
