I've heard of people being able to use the codes after the expiration dates. Does anyone have any experience with that?

I was going to give my 2 codes to a couple friends back in Illinois, but I couldn't reach them before the 31st. :(

XBL will let you get all set up, try to authenticate and then finally tell you that the code is (I forget) either invalid or expired.
