Not only that, but your conversation partner (me) knows next to jack about both franchises. :)

I'm rather interested in both, but not interested enough, or enough of a shooter fan, to grab either. Although the CC deal for Gears 2 really tempted me.
 
Yeah, that's why I went for it. I guess these sales are effective, because they have me buying stuff I normally wouldn't buy! I'm pretty interested in both series too, although I don't really think either is as good as the hype. Gears is sort of a fun summer popcorn flick without much of a brain.

I picked up Fable 2 and Warioland thanks to those sales too (although at least those two are more likely games I'll really get in to). Probably would have picked up Valkyrie Chronicles too if they had it.
