6 Sequels for Guitar Hero?!

Woo! I like the fact that more are on the way, I wouldn't want to have just bought the controller for one game. I only hope this does not go the way of DDR where there are too many too soon and knock offs appear followed by crappy originals.
It's not the bands, it's the record labels that have to give permission, right? That's probably why whole groups of great bands are missing - they were all on the labels that weren't included.
hopefully they'll warm up after the success of GH.
Go listen to Stone Cold Crazy, and then promptly shut the fuck up.
Listen to any Metallica pre-Black Album, King Diamond, Ronnie James Dio, or Black Sabbath and then promptly go fuck yourself.

I'm not saying Queen is bad; I like them.

They're just not metal.

Yes they are. Now shut the fuck up.
Too much of a good thing can sometimes be bad. Let's just hope they don't get a bit too carried away and just ruin their good idea, but I doubt they can manage to mess it up ;)

For the drum idea, i could imagine guitar hero on gamecube, connect 2 guitars and some donkey konga controllers, instant band!
well there is taiko drum master on ps2. they could probably integrate karaoke revolution and DDR into it somehow to and have an entire band.

They're about as metal as you could be, pre-All-Those-Bands-You-Listed. They, along with good folks like Zepp and Sabbath, are pretty well responsible for any metal you hear today, or in that little list of yours for that matter (excluding Sabbath of course; they were doing it before anybody).

But I'm not here to argue semantics with you, in spite of the joy I derive from knowing I'm right. I'm here to be excited about Guitar Hero sequels. Whoo.

Have an awesome day.

If nothing else, I would love to see Eric Clapton's "Layla" on one of these... Preferably not the unplugged version.

That would be pretty sweet.

Guitar Hero is cool as hell. I'm glad to see that sequels are coming. Would jump on any of them. Even the country one. My wife likes country. Good way to earn some brownie points.

I would *like* to think it would have Hank Sr., Johnny Cash, and older classic "Country and Western" kinds of music. I fear, however, that it'll be that newfangled Garth Brooks/Cowboy Troy bullshit. "Nashville" country, if you know what I mean.

Hell, they should work on adding older rockabilly songs to the country version, since it's somewhat of a hybrid between rock and country. over Carl Perkins in Guitar Hero.

Tell me that you'd rather play "Friends in Low Places" over "Flesh and Blood."

"As metal as you can be, before..." doesn't necessarily make them metal. It just means metal had not really emerged yet, or was not yet prevalent. By this logic, I could claim the Beatles were "as metal as they could be" in their time (...I hope we can agree that the Beatles are not metal, at least).

But you're right, the thing to focus on here is that there will be more Guitar Hero goodness than anyone expected, and that's just plain awesome.
I hope they make the metal version REAL metal. I wanna play some King Diamond, Slayer, Morbid Angel, etc.
Hell yeah.
Yes, that was the joke.
Correction: that was your poor attempt at a joke.

I'll always be one step ahead of you. There is no chance, make your time.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but is there any rough idea of when these are coming out? Sounds like it was more of a tease than an official announcement, but maybe someone knows when these are expected to be available.
